There is nothing more beautiful on this earth than a Black woman.

Since the beginning of time, Black women have been the envy of the planet. From Queen Nefertiti to Viola Davis their beauty is unblemished, and as the world continues to unfurl, this simple truth shall remain. A string of recent events where our sisters have been brutalized by the hands of our brothers has been deplorable to say the least. This foolishness has been allowed to go on for far too long. The day has arrived for most of my brothers and the world to recognize how we've become complicit in the degradation of Black women.

Through the years, there have been innumerable examples where the media refuses to acknowledge the violence against Black women. The complete show of disrespect has been appalling and disgusting. The countless amounts of unsolved cases involving the murder or kidnapping of a Black girl or Black woman makes one wonder if there is a conspiracy going on because there isn't a plausible justification for these demeaning practices. For 250 years, Black women were the backbones of two different Americas. They raised both White and Black children in a society that considered them second-class when they deserved first-class accommodations.

Let's be clear. The United States wouldn't be the nation it is today without the laborious work of Black women. On slave plantations, they were subjected to the most egregious forms of torture, but they still managed to raise the children that would provide the free back-breaking labor to make capitalism thrive. White slave masters viewed them as sexual objects that they could use at their discretion instead of viewing them as true queens. Black women had to bear the burden of being mothers to children who were neglected by their parents while their own children suffered daily. It is unfathomable to possibly understand their struggle for equality among their countrymen and women.

During the fight for civil rights, Black women were instrumental in providing the foundational cornerstones for the movement to become an overwhelming success, but they were reduced to the background. As the movement pressed forward, their organizational tactics led to triumph after triumph for their counterparts on the ground. Their lack of recognition remains as an irremovable stain on the movement itself. Despite all these unjust conditions, they've risen to the top time and again.

The past 30 years have been quite problematic for our community, ranging from unemployment to mass incarceration. One of our greatest tragedies within that time frame has to be the treatment of our women. Brothers, how did we let this become an epidemic? We can't keep driving down the same destructive path without addressing the problem. We've been the biggest co-conspirators against our sisters when they've been the fortuitous backbone of our communities for centuries. They're the extension of our bloodline and without them we're doomed to fail. We must end all forms of negativity towards them because it's the right thing to do. When you see a sister, you should see your mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and everything they've done to make our race pristine. They deserve more respect and more love from us and the world.

Here is a lyrical excerpt from the late rapper Tupac Shakur's song, "Keep Ya Head Up":

You know it makes me unhappy. when brothas make babies, and leave a young mother to be a pappy / And since we all came from a woman, got our name from a woman and our game from a woman, I wonder why we take from our women, why we rape our women, do we hate our women? / I think it's time to kill for our women, time to heal our women, be real to our women.

No truer words have been spoken. The time is now. After everything we've done to our sisters, the unbreakable loyalty they have for us is a testament to their beauty. Brothers, be the kings that you were intended to be and crown our queens with the honor they deserve. Stop the irrational violence, refrain from the insensitive name-calling and end the unnecessary street harassment.

Black women are more than the wretched stereotypes that people see on cable network stations. Black women are holding their own in corporate America. Black women are running their households with supreme efficiency. Black women are yearning for their brothers to love them unconditionally. Black women are undeniably beautiful.

Enough said.

Cue the negative comments from the menfolx in 3,2,1.....

.

A woman get respect when she is worthy not just because she is a "Black" woman! or any race for that matter!

If a respectable beautiful black woman is disrespected it will be dealt with
believe this...but these hoes that wanna demand respect for all without
looking in that mirror can go straight to hell!

As much as I agree that black women should be respected more, respect is something that's earned. You don't get the respect just because.

I have no problem giving black women the respect they deserve.

I agree with this! Too many people want respect that they have neither earned nor deserve.

Too many people don't understand what respect means. And being humanly decent either. And then there's the people who are cowed and bowed by the thinking of another that is not of their own nature.

We knew it was coming lol

this board is not the appropriate place for that article....... too much hate for us here

Yeah, I was going to post it on the main board, but I would have been told to take my ass over to Sistas Online so I put it here. I didn't actually believe any of the menfolx would be receptive to it, tho a few surprised me. Playahaitian did a nice thread and included the article on the main board.

The article is fine where it is no need to place it elsewhere. The hate on the board exist because you encourage it. Were you to ignore the haters, refuse to comment and realize nothing here is that important they would find look elsewhere for their amusement.

:D

seriously its been a LONG TIME coming.

We as the senior male members of the board have really dropped the ball.

We have confused "caping" with allowing black women, the whole foundation of the board, to be marginalized by trolls and these new members.

I think the ocking of female members started this and has been allowed to be perpetuated on some "equality" bullshit defense.

We shouldn't be ocking women or running them off the board.

Don't get we wrong BGOL is a jungle and most can give as good as they get.

however no matter what, black women need to be given extra consideration here...and OFF the board.

This is what the problem is. Women of other races don't go through what we as black women go through so no we don't need to share our respect. Why can't the black woman get a pedestal at least once in this lifetime without other races of women being thrown in with us? smh

agreed.

Why is considered so difficult and extreme for BLACK MEN to love adore and and cherish BLACK WOMEN?

It is above the realm of possibility that such positive reinforcement and attention may *gasp*

lead to better understanding and a strengthening of the black familial social structure as a whole?

Nonsense. The main board is as it is (a "jungle" is a good term) and you either deal or you don't. A vagina doesn't give you extra protection or consideration on a porn board.
I'm against running anyone off the board, even the blatant trolls. I'm shocked when people allow themselves to be run off the board in the first place.
It is odd to see women or anyone shocked at misogyny and disrespect on ostensibly a porn messageboard.

No one even mentioned women of other races until you did.
There still hasn't been any hate or complaints on the article (except it's rather bland and not especially well written).

Black women will get more self respect when they EARN respect and it starts with....

SELF RESPECT.

Sorry to bust your feel good thread love but Black QUEENS (and KINGS) have to ACT as such before they are treated as such.:hmm:

I read his quote differently.

One thing
If you're looking or give any weight to positive (or negative)reinforcement here, you have deeper issues.
One of the main reasons Black children still fail the old doll test is we spend way too much energy seeking validation from outside sources.

I'm not.

You're always going to have the woman hating maggots show up. Black women won't get the human respect they deserve because black men don't feel they're human. Even with the best of intentions. Women by and large are treated as objects. Not people. And when you're towards the bottom of the pole all you can do is push down even more on the 1 that's below you.

As far as the doll test that begins in the home.

It all does. Build your children up (not with a bunch of false praise though) and they will give no credence to random assholes that dont respect them.

Too many people don't understand what respect means. And being humanly decent either. And then there's the people who are cowed and bowed by the thinking of another that is not of their own nature.

Slept on post.

You don't get it^^^

I don't get what? Enlighten me. Why should a collective of women who are not only notorious but EMBRACE in some cases...

-European fashions: blue eye contacts, straight hair blonde wigs etc.. Why would any self respecting black woman want to physically emulate white woman?

-Single parent households: it's the women's FINAL CHOICE in whether to have a child or not.

-Overweight/obesity: I'm THICK and it's killing me!

-Public image: combative, argumentative, hostile etc. If you are not this while allow others represent you like that and not call them to the carpet.

...should anyone respect any collective of people with such self damning traits outside of the right to have such damning traits?

This also goes for black men as a collective as well. We need to get our shit together but this article and the responses in my opinion is wanting black women to be respected simply because their black women and not how they currently act or allow/endorse/turn a blind eye to how they are represented.

No ma'am.:smh:

This is more than the "you have to earn respect to get respect". You can't take everything at face value.

Ok...ENLIGHTENED ME otherwise your statement is shallow.

Not being a dick I really want to know because outside of the basic respect one gives another human the "respect is earned not just given" -especially in light of ones actions- is status quo.

Well that's the issue to me. Black women don't get basic HUMAN respect. Women in general are overall mistreated. Shit on. But black women don't even get human decency respect from a great deal TOO many. I'm not a feminist, i'm a humanist. I want human decency displayed. Acted upon. Nobody should respect me because i have a vagina. Respect the fact that i'm a living breathing entity just like you. A brain, blood. Muscle tissue that can make me do tasks, just like you. A brain that allows me to think and figure out things, just like you. I can decide for myself who and what, and where and how. I can see a puddle and step over it, just like you. I don't believe in chivalry and i don't expect it. Black women are the mothers of the black men who are capable of achieving so much, they deserve human respect. Between black men and women there is a serious lacking of that.

Black people born in america are in a unique situation where they have to rely on each other. But there's a gob massive amount who are still under a blindfold, and still believe in the ways of their oppressor. I am not less. I am equal. Africans for the most part believed in this concept. Natives in america believed in that concept. Black women were toiling in the fucking sun and being raped and murdered just like the men were. But yet you've got all these black men. Who see their women as LESS. Who see themselves as LESS. And the whites as more. Black men don't respect themselves. So they can't respect their women.

:) lol

agreed.

Quoted for emphasis

Thank you!!!!!!!

Threads made on other races of women arent met with "oh we only like the good ones" ... they just focus on the good and dont even bring up the bad ... but when it comes to us they ALWAYS have to remind us that so many of us are not deserving INSTEAD of just focusing on the deserving ones like they do for white, asian, latina women etc

Thank God for brothas like you :yes:
