The two biggest obstacles to positive Black men are the "Angry White Male" and his counterpart...in Black-face, the "Strong Black Woman". The ones who have made mistakes do have the ability to learn and grow, and if they don't you do have the ability to try and guide and teach them. All we do is talk about the plight of the black woman, man, relationship, community etc............There needs to be some major figure and our community to become pro-active. There should be a major conference that involves leaders, entertainers, athletes etc.....Besides talking around the problem we need to get to the core of the issue. I mean hell we have all these events every year why the hell we cannot have a black conference to where the brightest minds in our community come together and start a contract that holds us responsible. We can do something like boycott our own entertainers by telling them we wont support your bullshit if your showing us in a negative light. Lets go after the rappers to. Now they have freedom of speech to say what they want but lets put pressure on the radio programmers and BET. Also we need to educate our youth during off hours by bringing in major figures (Like the president) to hold workshops. Also, lets support media's that are not biased or make money on cooning. Lastly, lets support our family members and friends that are doing positive things or who working hard and bringing good grades. Its time to stop admiring failure and bad behavior. The people who does not live up to positive expectation should not get any attention until they make the change. Its a damn shame majority of our community knows people like lil wayne, but do not know atleast 5 innovators that contributed to math, science, technology, etc.....(I'm also guilty of this). So if there is any child that makes good grades let us as a community celebrate with them, and the ones who dont support them but make them know more is expected and failure is not acceptable. Also lets get more involved in the political processs. Lets stop showing up in the General elections every 4 years. Its time to put people in local elections in the position that can identify the problems in our community and will have a backbone by not selling us out to keep their job.
