~--~Official 2012 NBA Draft/Offseason Thread~--~

By taking all of these Orlando players in exchange for promising young talent, the Rockets would essentially become a Western Conference version of the team that Howard has already deemed not good enough for him.

Jeezus Christ I hope the Rockets pull off this trade

Hibbert-Hill-Contracts.jpg

The two restricted free agents both signed their deals today. Combined, the inside-out duo are now $100 million men, with Roy Hibbert getting around $60 million over four years and George Hill guaranteed $40 million for five seasons. (photo via @LetsTalkPacers)

Like both players but knowing that we owe them around 100 million
stings a bit when I notice they have a 21 PPG career average combined.

Beat you kno this was only missing on thing....:lol::lol::lol::lol:

See

ray knew what time it was,, they already dangling terry as bait :smh:

Gary Washburn
Also in Boston Celtics Jason Terry tells the Globe he will wear #4 for the #celtics and that Doc Rivers was the first person who called him when free agency began

Because the Knicks could only offer him 24mil so they told him to go get a bigger deal and they'd match.

Knicks already said they r matching.

yea wasnt worried about that, but why even let it get there....

I'm offering him a contract straight off the muscle. Why even risk a Eric Gordon situation.

They wanted him to get paid. So instead of 24 he got a 25mil 3 yr deal...no fourth year ...same thing they did with fields...dolan don't care. He will pay deals

Yo Houston is making no sense this offseason...I thought they woulda @ least offer 30-35 mill overall to put @ least some pressure on the Knicks...all they doing is just helping out other teams right now...

I think if a team would overpay a player, Houston would be the prefect team to do it by overpay Lin. They had a entire continent following them, wearing Rockets jerseys, If im the owner, I'm tryin to tap back into that culture.
Dont seem like they fought hard for Lin, seem like more thought is being put towards getting Howard.

Ya them taking so long to finally make time and give him the offer sheet to sign is kinda "disrespectful"...I thought he had already signed it and shit

Their owner don't got dolan money...that lux tax is gonna fuck teams up...in a few years unless u got a billionaire owner who dont care

Right sign Lin, work those other pieces around him. Dont have to be stars at the moment. Shit giving Lin between 6-8 million a year for five years ain't bad.

He's being mentored by Kidd...that in itself is worth it. Lin idolized Kidd...patterned his game after Kidd...also the marketing off Lin alone is worth it

the big thing with me is even if the team goes to complete hell its over in 3 seasons. That alone shows a level of foresight the knicks haven't had since the 90's. Its crazy but right now a lot more teams in the league have potential albatross deals than the knicks do.

O.J. Mayo in town for Suns visit

With the New Orleans Hornets still expected to match the four-year, $58 million offer the Phoenix Suns made to restricted free agent guard Eric Gordon, Suns' brass is looking elsewhere to bolster their roster.

Enter O.J. Mayo, the Memphis Grizzlies free agent who confirmed via twitter Friday that he is indeed talking to the Suns

The 24-year-old Mayo was the third overall pick in the 2008 draft by Minnesota before being dealt to Memphis on draft night. He was a starter for his first two years in the league, but has come off the bench in the last two seasons. In 2011-12, Mayo averaged 12.6 points and 3.2 rebounds per contest in 66 games.

For his career, Mayo has averaged 15.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.

Agree but my reply was slightly directed towards Houston Magic.

The Knicks haven't made bad moves...I think dudes were trolling and going overboard w/ the criticisms of the Kidd/Camby signings...

they went the Kidd just to have a vet at point...along with school Lin
camby is a good sign... add depth at center....maybe some folks thought addressing the shooting guard slot was more inportant...
