~-~-~-~Official 2012 NBA Finals Thread: Miami Heat vs. OKC Thunder(Heat 3-1)~-~-~-~

This^

No Bosh, no title. Now that he's back I don't see how people think OKC is going to just run Miami off the court. I hate them but I'm not delusional. Cats r speaking from emotion and not basketball sense.

Exactly. Unlike Dallas and Boston OKC bigs do not score(That Ibaka game against SA was an anomaly.) So Miami's biggest weakness isn't that bad. On the other end Ibaka is A FAR better defender than Perkins. So when Boah pulls him out to 17 feet, who is gonna be there to stop the drives? Poster King Perkins? ......

LeBron is on a mission.
Heat in 6

I agree. Also, I see a few more posterizations, this series, with Perkins once again on the receiving end.

real talk. Ninjas simply do not like LeBron and do not want to see this man win a championship at all costs.

Heat in 6. After which we begin the LeBron is on pace to better than Jordan talk.

Re: ~-~-~-~Official 2012 NBA Finals Thread: Miami Heat vs. OKC Thunder~-~-~-~

heat in 7... can't wait!

Re: ~-~-~-~Official 2012 NBA Finals Thread: Miami Heat vs. OKC Thunder~-~-~-~

The one thing that beats the Heat are "tough teams" Teams with players that get up in their face. Like Boston they bully Miami a lot. The Bulls.... the 11 Mavs bullied them. Chandler, Marion, Stevenson, imposed their
Will.

OKC just seems too nice.

Pacers tried that bully formula and got their asses handed to them.... That bully shit don't fly anymore

Re: ~-~-~-~Official 2012 NBA Finals Thread: Miami Heat vs. OKC Thunder~-~-~-~

Can't wait for the series to start so all of this talking can cease.

:roflmao3::roflmao3:

so many fucking stans
trying to pass off stannism as basketball knowledge

this shit is gonna be impossible to even comment in really

if i pick okc there will be 5 posts saying i hate lebron and other various shit

if i pick miami, nobody will say shit lol

few myths being passed off here...

1 okc is a jump shooting team- apparently you haven't been watching the playoffs the team has matured and changed its identity. they go to the rim.

2 okc doesn't play defense- they do, they just swept the top offensive team in the nba... you cannot front or discredit that.

as far as this series goes i have to see game 1. there are a million possibilities i have to see how the coaches feel each other out.

lebron has to be on kd period. don't fool yourself thinking shane can even begin to guard kd he can't...period.

kd has to be on lebron...i believe they both want the challenge so before you come in attacking me...this is what THEY WANT.

will spo and brooks do the same thing?

will they have wade and westbrook match up? chalmers is too slow to stay in front of westbrook

will they use their specialist on the guards?

to me it makes sense...shane on russel and seffalosa on wade.
gives their specialist a clear assignment and lets both of those players do what they do best, off the ball center field leak out breaks as well as saves them for offense

bosh/ibaka

they both can guard each other, both can shoot the jumper bosh's is better ibaka is better inside and on the boards and shot blocking.

i don't see ibaka on bosh much if brooks is smart
pull the switch and play by committee have ibaka on anthony/haslem and put collinson/aldrige/muhammed on bosh. it saves ibaka from foul trouble

same time spo should make sure bosh is in the pick and roll bosh can make all the correct reads and hit shots if ibaka isnt on him make the lesser pay

unlike all the teams miami has faced so far okc has more than 1 big man...so it isnt as simple as oh pull ibaka away... they have 30 fouls between the 6 big men they could play..

miami needs the others to hit 40% of everything. that's a solid number to give them the help they're gonna need

keep it close and let lebron and them try and win it.

a track meet will not be good for miami...at all
at the same time okc has no problem generating offense.

who will be the x factor for miami?

harden is okc's...which makes them rare.
their starters can do their thing and get 30 from 1 person off the bench.

miami has to make okc work on defense...that means little to no iso ball. none
miami can do it...if they want to.

both teams need to attack the rim period

gonna be an insane series it wont be a sweep or easy for EITHER SIDE
so this sweep or 5 game or even 6 game for either is laughable

i want both kd and bron to get a ring so either way at the end ill be extremely happy.

can't wait till tuesday

Re: ~-~-~-~Official 2012 NBA Finals Thread: Miami Heat vs. OKC Thunder~-~-~-~

I know what I would do if I wanted to beat OKC with this Miami squad.

But I am not the coach so........

Re: ~-~-~-~Official 2012 NBA Finals Thread: Miami Heat vs. OKC Thunder~-~-~-~

Okc in 6 is my pick. Better bench, better bigs.

Miami might become the buffalo bills of the nba great team but no rings.

Okc is just a more complete team up front and on the bench. Kinda like Dallas last year. if Miami thought Dallas was tough wait till they see Okc a younger Dallas team. Damn Okc is ballin too.

Aside from Harden... who on OKC's bench is a consistent scorer? I'll wait...

And you keep saying these dudes are as well rounded as last year Mavs. I totally disagree. Theyre deep? Every team the Heat faced so far has been deeper than them. Pacers on paper, should have exposed the fuck out of Miami... but Lebron and Wade went YOLO on the court.

What people tend to forget about the Mavs last year, is that the adjustment of starting Barea at the 2, zone defense, and Chandler all combined together is what killed Miami....

1) OKC has no mismatch that is equal to Barea. Barea was too small and quick to guard... last year.

2) Zone defense? Every team in the playoffs that used the zone against Miami failed. It might have slowed them down at times but they solved it very quick. They'll either make a 3 or just move the ball and penetrate.

3) Chandler. OKC has Ibaka and Perkins. Cool. Bosh in... and let Haslem hit a few Jumpers. That floor will spread quickly. If Bosh is firing 3s now like he did last night... its a wrap.

Thunders play DECENT defense compared to Miami. The Heat have 3 of the best perimeter defenders... And probably the only player in the league that can consistently guard Durant. As long as Miami is careful with the ball... they will be fine. Thunders will beat them by Miami's careless mistakes. If Miami can stay disciplined, Thunders' suspect half court offense will get exposed quick.

Whoever has the best pick and roll defense will win. Since Miami has been known for their pick and roll defense this season... I'll roll with them in 6. Spo's line-ups and offensive plays is always hit or miss... but for the fact Miami is a top 3 defensive team... AND they are undersized, you have to credit dude.

Re: ~-~-~-~Official 2012 NBA Finals Thread: Miami Heat vs. OKC Thunder~-~-~-~

Miami has no chance in hell

1) theyre not deep enough...that 6 man rotation is not going to do it
2) theyre weak at the pg...you cant play 50 ft off of westbrook
3) if kg dominated them, my god ibaka and perk should dominate the boards
4) seflousha is an incredible defender
5) Fish is the old worldly vet who hits the big shots
6) KD is impossible matchup for the heat
7) Dwade has been charmin soft all playoffs...will he wake up?
8) Bron cant give you 45 every night
9) Bosh tends to get pushed around in the block...perk will punk him
10) OKC has home court

* i didnt even mention Harden yet :smh:

I'll be surprised if the Heat wins 2 games

Miami has too many weaknesses that OKC can exploit.....

plus Spo is an idiot

can't wait till tuesday

I said OKC way back in what...April was it? Miami is gonna have to depend an OKC player to get injured or Westbrook not learning from the SA series.
OKC in 6

The problem with Heat nation is they want it to be one way.

Re: ~-~-~-~Official 2012 NBA Finals Thread: Miami Heat vs. OKC Thunder~-~-~-~

Yeah just like some of you same niggas with your false analysis talkin bout Spurs are a well oiled machine and how okc had no chance Lmaoooo

How about waiting for the first game to be played before making wild ass predictions

This series going 7 games with the Heat edging out okc with a clutch from charmers

Re: ~-~-~-~Official 2012 NBA Finals Thread: Miami Heat vs. OKC Thunder~-~-~-~

I'm gonna say Heat in 6, maybe 7. I think the young gunners (OKC) are on the verge of a title, but this isn't their year. They'll be around for a while, but it kinda feels like they'll run out of gas at some point in this series. Also, if Bosh is able to play at the level he did last night he could really be a problem for OKC. He doesn't have to put up the same numbers, but if he spaces the floor and opens lanes for 'Bron and Wade Miami could get some easy buckets from time to time.

Re: ~-~-~-~Official 2012 NBA Finals Thread: Miami Heat vs. OKC Thunder~-~-~-~

OKC does not have a mismatch on the court vs Miami. Miami does not have to double anyone on OKC. OKC can't match up with Miami without doubling.

When it comes to scoring, no team in the NBA puts better scorers on the court than the Heat. OKC is a jump shooting team that does not score in the paint. Miami is a team that lives in the paint.

To me the key to the game is simple. Can OKC get quality shots and can Westbrook perform at a high level by playing smart basketball.

Dude Westbrook is a mismatch. They are going to have to double him and help defend the entire series.

disagree... they're not boston they're 23-21 years old there is no tiredness to be had with them so i disagree on that hope or wish happening with okc.

and bosh will be helpful for the heat because they need more scoring but i don't think he'll be a problem...i count him in the 80 points that those 3 will need to be competitive.

its the others who need to be consistent who aren't and hopefully miller is a little healthier for this series to plug some holes.

but they don't have a harden he might be the key if he finally strings together some good games

Re: ~-~-~-~Official 2012 NBA Finals Thread: Miami Heat vs. OKC Thunder~-~-~-~

I'd take Ibaka, Thabo, Harden, Fish and Perk over Haslem, Bosh, Anthony, Chalmers and Miller

And that home court will matter

Re: ~-~-~-~Official 2012 NBA Finals Thread: Miami Heat vs. OKC Thunder~-~-~-~

Dude Westbrook is a mismatch. They are going to have to double him and help defend the entire series.

certain posters you have to disregard they only see what they want and say the most delusional shit
he is one of those. this thread will work a lot better if you do that.

Re: ~-~-~-~Official 2012 NBA Finals Thread: Miami Heat vs. OKC Thunder~-~-~-~

this is the series i wanted to see...

i don't even care who wins...

i jus want it to be competitive...with most..if not all..of the games goin' down to the wire...

i wanna see both teams play up to their full potential...

i hope it goes at least 6 games...

Re: ~-~-~-~Official 2012 NBA Finals Thread: Miami Heat vs. OKC Thunder~-~-~-~

OKC in 6

The problem with Heat nation is they want it to be one way.

that's what makes the opinions kind of unrealistic imo

all up and down not too long ago all we heard was how bad the roster was how lack of depth is the problem how much they miss bosh and how they need so many more pieces this offseason

and now the team is somehow right and great as constructed to go against okc who is deeper than people want to give them credit for.

scoring wise their depth consistently is harden.

the others do things that don't show up in the stat sheet such as good quality minutes (collisnon fisher etc)

its gonna be tough for both squads its not gonna be as easy as both sides think it will be.

its gonna be clean straight up good basketball

Re: ~-~-~-~Official 2012 NBA Finals Thread: Miami Heat vs. OKC Thunder~-~-~-~

The first team to make two smart adjustments wins.

But then again many of you believe in "unstoppable" players.

but I am going to leave it there.

Re: ~-~-~-~Official 2012 NBA Finals Thread: Miami Heat vs. OKC Thunder~-~-~-~

Miami never doubled D Rose and somehow they will be forced to double Westbrook who is shooting 30% and you say I am delusional?

yes
if you compare the way the bulls are constructed with only 1 scorer
as opposed to how okc is constructed with more consistent scorers than anyone you've faced in the playoffs then yea you are.

and all i know is you better not put chalmers on him
chalmers is bbq chicken westbrook is just flat out better than him
flat out.

Re: ~-~-~-~Official 2012 NBA Finals Thread: Miami Heat vs. OKC Thunder~-~-~-~

Okay i usually pick em right. Miami in 5.

Yea OKC have have three of the same position players. Durant, Westbrook and James Harden. You can make that same case for Wade and Lebron except Lebron can play all 5 positions. Also Wade, Lebron and Bosh can all post up and finish inside rather than post up and take a turn around fadeaway. OKC only have jump shooters.

No one on that team can post up. Not Durant, not Ibaka or Perkins. Look at the history. No TEAM has EVER. EVER EVER EVER EVER WON A CHAMPIONSHIP WITHOUT A POST UP GAME. INSIDE AND OUT. The closest team was last years Dallas team. Even they went inside to the German. But you non basketball playing niggas wouldn't know this.

Re: ~-~-~-~Official 2012 NBA Finals Thread: Miami Heat vs. OKC Thunder~-~-~-~

pick and roll defense will be the key in general to this series.

I do think that Spo will have to go deep into his roster. He is stubborn and is lucky to have talent to hide his mistakes as a coach

I dont see how James Jones shouldnt get shots this series. He will need all the offensive tools he has at his disposal. Especially since Mike Miller is clearly injured

I cant see how one could make a prediction on this without any games being played
