Man this touchpad was the best $100 I have spent technology wise. Wish I had gotten more than 2 bec with ICS they're comparable to anything out there.

What do you mean "reinstallling programs & settings?"

I have ICS installed on mines, it didn't do anything to webOS. I can boot either OS with no problem....

Mannnnnnnnn I've been preaching this for the longest. webOS was probably the best phone OS. Cats on this board thought I was nuts. There wasn't many apps for it compared to android and apple, but definitely the best multitasking OS. I still own my Palm Pre now. I need to upgrade bad, but it's hard to part way from this OS. I swear Samsung needs to acquire webOS.

I too like webOS. It really is a shame is didn't have the support Android and IOS had. I mostly use webOS on my TouchPad, but I do have Android ICS on it now. webOS is stable as fuck and simple to use.

I have the 32gig touchpad, I've read there were some issues with the wireless constantly cutting off and issues with the camera. Has that been fixed so far with any patches with ICS? I like WebOS but I hate the Facebook App on it. Wish they'd redo that shit and fix it properly.

ICS still isn't finalized so the camera issue hasn't been fixed. The wireless bug was a CM7 issue, haven't seen it on ICS.....

Funny, I felt the webOS Facebook app was FAR superior over the Android FB app....

I still use webOS and ICS almost daily, but I have to admit, outside of a few instances, I most definitely prefer webOS.

I think you may have convinced me to buy a touchpad and fuck around with webOS since it is open for developers to play with.

Has anyone's Touchpad died? My shit was working well yesterday...I plugged it in to charge the battery, then it just died. When I went to unplug it from the charger, it was blazing hot to the touch (I only had it plugged in for maybe 30-45 minutes). Now it won't turn on no matter what I do. I've held the power button down for damn near 2 minutes...held the power button and the home button down at the same time...held the power + volume + home buttons. I've done all of the aforementioned items numerous times. NOTHING works. I think my touchpad just kicked the bucket.

Damn and it can't even be replaced or repaired

Easy fix:yes:

Did you read my full post? I've been doing that shit REPEATEDLY for the past 2 days. It's not working.

Sorry... Throw it away or sell for perts, buy another. I been getting them for about $180.00 on eBay and selling for $300

I'm about to take a sledgehammer to it. I'll probably end up picking up a used Android tablet...saw a 32GB Acer Iconia on ebay for $299.

I finally put CM9 Alpha 2 on my touchpad. I want to download some apps I've seen on some warez boards and want to know if there's anything special I have to do to make this happen. Secondly any recommended apps/games to put on CM9?

Bump, anything new?

Just press and hold the top power button and the front button simultaneously for 20 - 30 seconds

Repeat: Press and hold the top power button and front button simultaneously for 20 to 30 seconds

Even though this thread talks about the power button and home button but some people had success. Hope it works out for you.

I've googled and tried EVERY trick in the book...this shit is a brick.

The moving white light comes on at the center button over the plug in spot for the mini USB.
I've tried holding that button and the power button for 15-20 seconds...didn't work like it did for others.

I've used this shit ONCE and that was back in September when I got this one and another one.

The other one is not powering up after hours on the charger as well.

Some people claim HP had them send theirs in they were sent back a refurbished one, as it seems to be a hardware malfunction. Something about the mini USB port not being alligned properly, thus bending the plug's pins after several plug-ins.

Anybody got a remedy for this? Am I still under a warranty if I got it from Office Depot?:(

I am finally going to update my touchpad - does anyone have a website where i can update it to the latest?

second any suggestions?

thanks!

Nah, it has to be plugged up for at least 4-7 hours to turn on at 10% and then another 4 hours to get to 100% battery.

Trial and error took me to figure out all that press and hold shit didn't make a damn difference. The batteries are shit. That is why they firesold them shits. :smh:

Android for HP TouchPad now has front camera working

http://www.ubergizmo.com/2012/09/android-for-hp-touchpad-now-has-front-camera-working/

The HP TouchPad was announced some time ago, but it did not manage to last the distance in the market at all. No sir, in fact, the HP TouchPad was pulled off store shelves, virtual and in brick-and-mortar stores, leaving it as a legacy device where a small group of people have managed to make varying degrees of successful attempts to port over different operating systems to the HP TouchPad. Android was one of them, and until now, no one has managed to get the front-facing camera to work with Android running on the HP TouchPad – at least not until now.

Developer Dorregaray managed to come up with a custom, unofficial version of CyanogenMod 9 for the HP TouchPad, where partial support for the camera has been thrown into the mix. In plain English, this means that there are still bugs in the software, although you are able to make use of the built-in camera app to preview pictures and take snapshots. Forget about third party apps like Skype taking advantage of the front-facing camera, as that ain’t happening anytime soon. Something is always better than nothing, right?

Just wondered what the situation was with the fam who copped one during the fire sale...

I haven't had any problems

knock on wood*

I watch movies, maxgo, hbogo (sometimes the scroll option acts up though), I can load it with music and movies, read comics and books, surf...

I aint done nothing to it either. No android nothing. (I think I sped it up messing around with some features)

I may do the Android patch soon but I'm in no rush.
