#15 HS Coach here......Good luck guys, you're gonna need it
Even though I've known Timmy and his wonderful family for many years, I haven't spoken to him or his camp in months so these words are mine and mine alone.
To the 33% of Broncos nation who wanted Timmy to be "the guy" in Denver. I feel really, really bad for you. Time will prove you right, and knowing Timmy it's gonna be very difficult for him to leave behind all you wonderful people who have supported him in Denver from the start. When Timmy is holding the Lombardi trophy in a non-Broncos jersey someday, it's not gonna be a fun night knowing you were right all along and he was forced out of town to make room for Manning.
To John Elway, John Fox, Brian Xanders, and the 66% of Broncos fans who wanted Manning- enjoy the next 2-3 seasons- if he lasts that long. You're dumping the best leader in the NFL, who helped turn around a 1-4 team to division champs and a playoff victory, and is only 24 years old for a 36 year old QB coming off of 4 neck surgeries, that has only won 1 Super Bowl in his 13 healthy seasons in the league. I laugh at all the "We're Super Bowl Contenders now!" comments from the Broncos faithful ...err unfaithful I mean. Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. How many Super Bowls did Joe Montana win in Kansas City? How about Joe Namath for the Rams- how'd that work out? What abouth Brett Favre with the Jets and Vikings- how many Super Bowls? Seems to me you were Super Bowl Contenders with that young QB who took over a team at the bottom and led then to the final 8, in just his first year starting, with a long career ahead of him. There's a reason Indy is choosing Luck over Manning.
Are there things Manning can do better than Tebow- Sure. He is probably the most accurate QB in NFL history, but anyone who's ever coached football knows that it takes a lot more than pretty passes to be a great QB. Compare Peyton's leadership to Timmy's.

How dare the Center suggest a run play- the nerve of him. Notice who's side the other players are on...hmmmm.
Now watch how Timmy's teammates respond to him:

Are there things Tebow can do that Manning can't- you bet. No one rallies a locker room like Tebow. He is the only QB that I've ever seen that actually improves the defense. Von Miller says, "That's my guy- I'll ride with him til I die!". It's no coincidence that the defense improved when Tebow took over after the 1-4 start. It's no coincidence that John Fox looked like the worst Coach in the league at 1-4 and by seasons end looked like Coach of the year. It's no coincidence that McGahee went off after Tebow was inserted into the lineup. When you're wondering "Why is the defense not as good this year as last? We have all the same players?" you'll know why. I hope you guys enjoyed leading the NFL in rushing last season because I guarantee you it won't happen again this year.
As for anyone thinking, "Well maybe Tebow can learn from Peyton for a few years and then go back to being a starter", you are living in fantasy land. I'm sure the very first conversation between Elway and Manning involved a promise to dump Tebow if he picks Denver. There's no way in hell Manning would have picked Denver without Judas Elway... I mean John Elway making that promise. He knows that if things don't go so well in Denver how fast the billboards can go up. He's getting pushed out for Andrew Luck, the last thing he wants is to be replaced by another young QB if and when the 5th neck surgery is needed.
The next 2 seasons will be similar to last year (if Manning stays healthy) and then its back to 10 years of mediocrity. John Elway is all smiles today, but in reality this is the beginning of the end for him in Denver. I understand the NFL is a business, but you can't continue to lie and make bad moves and not expect it to catch up with you in the end. Elway will forever be known as the guy who traded away Tebow. He will go down as the greatest Bronco player of all time and the worst executive of all time- but what do you expect from a guy who's only prior front office experience was in the Arena League.

As a longtime Gator and former member of Urban Meyer's staff I'd be remiss not to mention that Manning was 0-3 vs the Gators while Tebow was 4-0 in games he played vs Tennessee. Here's a link to a post i made back when you guys were 1-4 last season. Good luck in the future! You're gonna need it.
