J.R Smith can get in trouble anywhere, not just China.
Thursday J.R. Smith tweeted a picture of a scantily clad woman from his hotel room in Milwaukee. He took it down not long after, but that’s just not now the Internet works — once it’s out there it is out there and this photo and discussion showed up everywhere including Deadspin. Controversy ensued.
Saturday, the NBA VP Stu Jackson announced the league fined Smith $25,000 for posting “inappropriate pictures” on his twitter account.

Where does the NBA draw the line. His picture had no references to the NBA nor was the tweet sent while working. He should appeal the fine.
What right doest the NBA have to regulate what tweets he sends? Can he be fined for profanity or derogatory statements made views the league deems inappropriate?
and there you have it... he 'spit game' to get the (free) pussy, but it ended up costing him $25 stacks anyway.
this nicca paid a post evaluation tax on dat ass.![]()
Fined for posting an ass picture of a chick who makes a living off showing her...ass?????, he'll win an appeal
this is bullshit...he needs to appeal asap
I know that shit sound crazy but remember when Juanita wanted to divorce Mike or Shaunie to Shaq and they magically got back together? Im not saying Stern directly but someone from his office had there hands in that pot. Then this cat Kobe"took"some pussy and he got off....only for 4 million on her finger.
I know it sounds crazy but its a FAMILY game. Basketball is something everyone watches. Stern don't want that shit, its bad for business. make amends now and deal with that shit after your playing career. I may be wrong a lot of that shit came off sideways to me. Especially Kobe taking the pussy and ole girl stayed with him. If she would of left it could of tarnished his image and the NBA.
I know Jerry Jones use to watch his players back as most owners would there prized athelete. Michael Irvin was a BEAST in his days and half the shit he done you dont hear about because they swept it under the rug
Oh snap! Her teammate said "Right in the kisser.." then BLAM!
Then they turned around and said, "You HAVE to finish". She said, "What?!... I can't even see straight."![]()
He was a MORON for posting da pic BUT the NBA needs to get off the high-horse,showed a big ass in a THONG,come on.In every NBA arena they got the cheerleaders jumpin around scantily clad,WHY? to appeal to the average male fans (and some women)Hypocritical MOFO'S!!!!!!!!!
The NBA is a global keyword GLO BAL BID NE SS. The Nba has young computer savy viewers they don't want them kids to see some woman's ass on his favorite player's personal twitter page. He is an employee not one of yall boys.
dude youre killing me with this simp logic
we get it
you pay for it
It depends on what his contract says. I got a side job teaching kickboxing at a local YMCA and they specifically asked me for all my social networking sites. They told me that I represent the Y and the contract it states that I can be fired if I have and lewd or malicious things on a site like a Facebook or Twitter. My friend who is a trainer there is constantly deleting shit off his page so he doesn't get in trouble.
I'm surprised by the people who agree with this. Apparently, sports is the only job where you can get fined by your boss for things that have nothing to do with your job. I mean yeah, it's not much money to them, but the principle seems flawed.
I don't buy that it's a 'distraction' for the team as anything can be called that, and I don't see how watching TV with your lady friend reflects badly on the league, either.
i'm still waiting for roger goddell to fine jim tressel (who was with the colts) like he fined and suspended tyrell pryor for what happened while THEY were at ohio state.
the motherfucker had the nerve to suspend pryor for 5 games for something totally unrelated to NFL business... but let tressel's ass skate.
the nfl leadership is like the nazi party.
really?
I am wary of organizations who ask for any personal site information.
So basically I could make a fake twitter of a NBA player and get him fined. Bad precident set.
