Anybody Ever Been To Punta Cana?

I'm looking to go there for my honeymoon. Some reviews of the place are great and some folks talk like you need to be strapped up as soon as you get off the plane. I'm trying to go somewhere and relax and not worry about some local knuckleheads starting shit around the resort.

I went to Punta Cana some years back for a wedding. Didn't like it very much. They wouldn't let you go off the resort because they said it wasn't safe, but there weren't very many people on the the resort either so it was like being in a ghost town. The staff(ladies) were fuckin beautiful and I had to check myself so my wife wouldn't catch me eyeballing the hoes.

My advice would be to go to a popular resort there where you know there will be shit to do. Messin with the off brands can be more trouble than it's worth.
 
My parent went 2 years straight to 2 different resorts they love it if you want I can get the names of the resorts their all inclusive!
 
The 2 they went to were Dreams & Now Laramar. They say Now Laramar is better accomodations but Dreams has better activities. Hope that helps! Peace
 
Went there a couple of years ago for a wedding. The resorts are all inclusive (liquor, food). The Europeans usually tan naked. It was a good time for couples but not really for singles because if you wan to leave the resort it is best to go on a hotel sanctioned trips or outings. Also the resorts are about 30 minutes from the airport so the taxi ride to the resorts is an experience in itself!

I went to Punta Cana with my girl a few years ago and stayed with at the Punta Cana Princess. Had a real good time and if you can find a deal on Cheapcaribbean.com, you can get a real good deal.

It's an all inclusive, adults only resort. The food was good (they have about 5 different restaurants, plus a buffet, a nice beach and pool (with bar), good rooms and activities, a shuttle to the casino and daily excursions.

Eat good, chill on the beach, drink for free, load up on Mamajuana (bring me a bottle back if you go) and make love to your new wife. What more do you want?
 
Went there a few years ago. Beautiful island. Great vacation. I had originally planned to go to Jamaica but was intriqued by some of the material I found online about the DR. Didn't regret my decision to go to Punta Cana one bit.

I've been to almost every Caribbean country..
All Inclusive Luxury resorts are all very similar regardless of the island you're on. They are all designed for couples to relax/chill onsite.

Of course there are nuances...but the islands all look similar..palm trees, pretty flowers/vegetation a decent beach, fucked up roads, and poverty outside the resort.
Cancun is the only exception I have seen, (with commercialism, great roads, and night clubs everywhere).

Lot's of dumb assed info in here..
Specifically about it being a boring island (really?..the whole fucking island?:rolleyes:), and not worth going to unless you plan on fucking hoes.:hmm:

I'd like to know what activities someone found on other islands that were not the same as the DR.:rolleyes:
You been on one banana boat, jetski, ATV ride, jungle/plantation tour, fishing/snorkeling trip, horseback ride...you been on them all.

They tell you it's not safe outside the resort because.
1. They want you to spend every single dollar with them.
2. Silly mf's with no hood or common sense (white folks) will get robbed trying to walk home from someplace they shouldn't have been at 2am.

Dominicans for the most part..don't want no trouble..and most won't fuck with a tourist..especially not one who has ANY kinda hood sense.
You gotta really be asking for it...or look realll soft.

In Punta Cana, I would be surprised to hear you actually running into a Dominican that doesn't work at/for a resort or in some way related to tourism...(unless you go specifically looking for one).

The only thing you have to worry about is being overcharged for taxis and anything else you spend money on outside the resort..because you are a "rich american"

So if you're going to hang with your wife, and do some activities/excursions...waste a little money in the BS casino...and hang out a little in the BS resort disco. Go for it..you will have a ball.

Dreams is Nice, The Hard Rock is nice, I've been to the Paradisus as well..(not sure if it's still called that). You can review them all on debbies dominican travel. Cheap caribbean is good site as well.

I went w/ the ole lady a few years back... WOW naked bitches everywhere (on the beach). That shit caught me off guard like a few bitches sat next to us & spoke then took their tops & shit off I was like :eek::eek::eek: of course the seniors did too :lol::lol:

Like someone else said they try o get you to stay in the resort because they say its not safe outside. Good thing is there were like 7/8 good restaurants & people were there to party...

Compared to the other Carribean vacay spots, like Jamaica, DR can be boring for Americans.

1. Spanish is the language. If you don't speak spanish, don't leave the fucking resort. Period. In Jam Rock they speak english. Big plus. Major fun factor being able to communicate.

2. Nightlife OUTSIDE of the resort. Please believe, if your in Montego Bay or Negril you can go right outside the gates and kick it. They playing the same shit they play in America and if you black you really get love cause they do not hate at all. Most people you met either have a relative in the States or plan to move to the states, it's love! I can't say the same about DR. I didn't feel the love.


3. Yea, the watersports and shit are all the same everywhere.

4. I'm not saying DR is bad, shit, it's better than Cleveland (no disrespect clevedawg), but if you have other options explore them, FULLY!!

Honestly, with all the pictures that you post and you affinity for with clubs, I am surprised that you've never been to Sosua.

I'm tryna set up a trip to the DR...Sosua or Puerto Plata in Feb, also. Brasil tix are just TOO FUCKIN HIGH!!

I thought I had a deal set up, but my boy told me they try to charge ya $80 to bring babes to your room on the resort..:angry:

Excellence is great in Mexico, but let me recommend Iberostar Grand in Punta Cana, I was there in June and it is top notch. We're even thinking of going back next month.

Been to Sosua (DR), Its like a Adult DisneyLand, I never fucked so many hoes in one day. First Time i was there

I spent 10 Days and fucked about 43 Girls. After i back to the USA i did not even want to look at another women for at least a month. My Dick was hurting me. I always though you can never get tired of pussy but Sosua proved me wrong.

Slam man there are too many posts about Sosua (def where you want to head for ya 1st trip) on the board...just do a thread title search for Dominican Republic...just take the plunge and buy a ticket...I went once in the summer of '10...last summer/fall I went apeshit and went 4 months in a row...the main thing you have to work out is when you wanna go how long you wanna go for and where will you stay...the rest is easy once you get on the ground and start running...it'll be like a horny ass kid in a pussy candy store...fuck it ask what you wanna know...you'd be surprise how many brothers here went...BGOL done led me astray...my next stop is Angeles City in the Philippines :smh:
