Mission Impossible real opening....( 26 Million )...again is tom`s career over ?

He just needs to stop doing blockbuster movies & focus on real dramas or real movies that people want to see like inception

He needs to take notes from leo

Tom is still stuck in the 90's making huge blockbuster movies
Unless there robots nobody wants to see them

it basically made 40 mil in its opening weekend

- people are use to those twilight/harry potter huge releases out of the gate these days...

i think this is a movie that's gonna linger in the top 5 for a good while and make all of it's money back...

also remember, die hard 3 did "okay" in the states, and swept up overseas like nobodies business....

He's not as good a actor as Leo

And Inception was a blockbuster movie, it cost over $150 mil and was released in the summer

Topic fail part two :dunno:

The 1st installment waz the best of the trilogy!

I remember scenes dialogues et cetera from it!

For instance one between Jon Voight n Tom Cruise!

They were in a London restaurant when Voight told Cruise

"Why you actin' like you the shit? I showed them to you"

Such an incredible memorable unforgettable scene :smh:

Then the 2nd followed by the 3rd which was all blowin' shit up!

He's returned for more! He must be on to something now!

sounds like 300mil globally in another 2 weeks - so he is still Tom Cruise
until the next movie...

His career is safe and will continue to be. Dude has been doing the damn thing for a long ass time. When I think Hollywood blockbuster the names Will Smith, Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington, Leonardo DeCaprio, Johnny Depp, and Christian Bale all tend to come to mind first.

Nobody knew what inception was about

It was just a good movie thats why people went to see it

Blockbuster movies are like transformers ,xmen ,batman , popcorn movies

DiCaprio was always an actor first, movie star second. He came out of the gates with "...Gilbert Grape" and "Basketball Diaries." Tom Cruise hasn't managed to show that kind of depth yet, and he's damn near 50.

Worldwide its already made 161 million in two weeks And will probably finish out at 300 million. So STFU already. People in his own Country may not like him but the rest of the world sure seems too.

On a black board I would think that feeling would ring home.

Inception was driven by its story, not the special effects that facilitated it. That's the difference between it and the kind of mediocre shlock that Tom Cruise churns out.

So you played yourself last week and did it once again the next week. The shit done grossed about 300 million lol.

so they estimate 72mil by monday with 118mil overseas. thats 190mil. that shit gon get it's money back. now them russians need to hurry up with a good telesync so I can get my money off that shit.

True. But Hollywood mindset is that if a movie isn't a blockbuster in the states, then it has failed.

Cruise is still big in Japan and expect the movie will do very well here. Sadly American media tends to have a very limited view.

American mindset is that if a movie isn't successful in the States its failed. Best believe Hollywood RELIES on foreign sales. They call it a flop so they can write it off. The overseas money is the real money to them. Trust.

What i wanna know is WHY all the shit talkin about is it ova for him when in Fact his movie beat out ALL the others so far
Tom Cruise's latest "Mission" has won a holiday weekend with some silent nights at movie theaters as business continues to lag.

Studio estimates Sunday place "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" a solid No. 1 with $26.5 million domestically over its first weekend in full release.

"Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" was No. 2 in its second weekend with $17.8 million. "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked" finished third with $13.3 million.

Cruise's fourth "Mission" flick was a bright spot over a Christmas weekend filled with so-so tidings for Hollywood, whose usually busy holiday stretch since Thanksgiving has been a bust.

Generally well-reviewed movies from Steven Spielberg ("The Adventures of Tintin"), David Fincher ("The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo") and Cameron Crowe ("We Bought a Zoo") - with casts that include Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson and Daniel Craig - opened with modest to weak results.

"The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" was No. 4 with $13 million, "The Adventures of Tintin" was No. 5 with $9.1 million, and "We Bought a Zoo" was No. 6 with $7.8 million.

Rounding out the top 10 were "New Year's Eve," "Arthur Christmas," "Hugo" and "The Muppets."

Nobody wants to see his midget ass playing the action hero anymore. He needs to be in The Expendables 3.

The action genre has switched over to comic book characters. Cruise should've taken a cue from Downey, Bale, Norton and found a super hero to portray
He probably could've nailed a character like Captain America, Green Hornet or maybe even Daredevil

Playing cartoon super heroes has not hurt the careers of none of those cats

I agree! He hasn't been interesting since Risky Business. In Top Gun he was more annoying than anything. It'll be on disk in February.

He was supposed to be Iron Man but after seeing Downey, Cruise would have flopped

Nah fam - he was THE SHIT in Magnolia.

Good in Tropic Thunder. Never takes himself seriously.

Better in Last Samurai where he took a step back for Ken Watanabe to shine.

Ghost Protocol was damn good with Brad Bird at the wheel. Camera was on everyone else (The Team) as much as it was on Tom and you can see where they are phasing him out. Very clever.

I know hes crazy.

I know hes short.

I know hes still Tom Cruise.

oNE

I thought it just opened today officially and how can you make totals when the day has not even begun. If the 26 million is just the IMax totals then thats pretty amazing. 26 million for one weekend in one country is damn near amazing
