Yep in the 80's their were many deserving guys to be a world champ in at least one of the big three promotions(NWA WWF AWA).
Ted Dibiase
Bruiser Brody
Rowdy Roddy Piper
Big John Studd
Jake the Snake Roberts
Stan Hansen
Arn Anderson
Dr. Death Steve Williams
Paul Orndorff
Jerry Lawler
Don Muraco
King Kong Bundy
Hacksaw Butch Reed
Greg The Hammer Valentine
Tito Santana
Bad News Brown
Mr. USA Tony Atlas
Barry Windham
Nikoli Volkoff
It was a crime IMO that not one on my list above won the NWA, WWF, or AWA world title in the 80's. If anyone disagree with any on my list let's debate

. Also any admissions can be added.
I actually don't think most of those guys were world champion quality guys. Hansen and Lawler actually were AWA champs. Brody was unreliable as shit. Jake, Muraco and Piper had bad drug habits. Tony Atlas couldn't talk for shit (and still can't). Nikolai, Bundy and Studd were good big heels but they weren't world champion good. Tito, Arn and Greg were great but they lacked that "thing". They were right where they should have been regional and secondary champs that got world title shots occassionally.
I do think Butch Reed and Steve Williams should have been world champs. Dibiase would have been WWF champion but politics fucked him up (just like Bobby Roode). Bad News says WWF brought him in with the promise of putting the belt on him.
So he must've been asleep all of 02-04 then, and he thinks a 15min Michael Cole match at Wrestlemania was must see tv

Why would you have your commentator bury your product even if you personally don't care for a particular segment? That shit is stupid and self defeating. I betcha if he was still a commentator Vince wouldn't do that or allow Jesse or Bobby to do it while they were working color. The older he gets, the worse his thinking gets.
I would like to submit roode awaking
lmaooooo good one
nigga got "rick Rooled'"
Both are good.
Stan Hansen won the AWA title during the 80's.Unfortunately they had an issue and he left for Japan.
Your list failed to include Rick Rude
Rude had a bad drug habit and a bad temper. You can't make a druggie your world champ. Dude showed up in bad shape to a ppv match with Ric Flair.
For an addict to get the strap in any of the Big Three of the time, you have to have serious political pull and even then you don't get a long run (Kerry Von Erich). That didn't change until Shawn Michaels got the WWF title in the late 90s from Bret Hart.
About the Hansen-AWA title situation, according to him, that's not quite what happened.
The call to Baba happened after he had already walked out on Gagne. He didn't like the fact that Verne had told practically everyone about the change except him and he hadn't made close to the amount of money he thought he should have been making as champ so he thought the change was happening too soon.
He, once again according to Hansen, "accidentally" ran over the belt with his tractor four times. Oops.
I still watch the old AWA matches on ESPN Classics and there was no feud with Greg Gagne. Not saying there weren't any matches but he had little mini-feuds with Curt Hennig and Jerry Blackwell but nothing sustained, something he complained about in his book.
I was at that Legends convention and the Hansen Q&A and he wasn't very specific about that except to offer his regret on how things went. He wasn't going to be very specific because he was selling his book. But he did speak highly about Nick Bockwinkel, who was in the audience.
