i am so fuckin angry right now. they screwed rob worse than i thought. he deserved better than that. hogan u son of a bitch. and i see no indication storm won where is the link? i cnt believe storm won the damn title out of nowhere like that. no knock on him, i like storm as well, great wrestler, even better personality. but they didnt have to screw roode. i have the feeling roode wasnt with it either. all those canada and family promos :smh: hogan, fuck u thats y ya family fucked u now

nevermind here is proof here.

:smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:

they said roode's loss is setting him up for a heel turn. and  at the same time. i could have sworn roode would stay face and storm would turn heel

I think Storm's a better heel but they do turns so often and so fast, I'm against either one turning. They just turned Daniels and they're turning Abyss (AGAIN) and Hardy came back as a face though he left a heel.
It would have been better if they had them work a good match but I understand that Angle's beat up pretty bad. But even with that, let them put in a good 15 minute match and then give Kurt the rest of the month off from wrestling.
Honestly, he should stop this quest to make the Olympic team. I'm sure he's fit as ever but he looks a little frail next to guys like Roode and Storm.

dave...man im sry. i wanna quit on em so bad. its like wcw 2000 all over again. when they tried to save it, with booker t as "the rock jr". they just fizzled out.

You saw Booker as "Rock Jr"? I do remember he started using the Rock Bottom as his finisher but he was still very much the Booker T he always was.

I don't work for TNA so if you want to dump them, you wouldn't be the first person. I'm just saying I don't mind Storm winning the title it's just the execution and obvious hotshotting that takes the shine off his win.

:roflmao2: @ the guitar shot

but like i said they turned him into the rock jr.

"the people's champion"

"the expensive shirt"

"the champion"

"the rock's hair cut"

Everyone feel the same way Dave. It's just fucked up how Roode got such a raw deal. I understand Storm is more marketable than Roode as Hogan said & TNA wanted to break Beer Money up and by bring back Chris Harris. It's like WWE & TNA just wan't to take short cuts by rushing angles. I really hope they give Roode & Harris atleast a month or so before we see their friendship collapse and become rivals.

BTW didn't Arn Anderson & Muta have a rivalry over the WCW TV title back in the day?

It must be because they didn't stick with "The People's Champ" thing I didn't see him like that.
I am not giving you the haircut. Booker had been rocking different types of fades since he came into wrestling and he earned the right to be champion based on his ability and matches but Hogan and company were standing in his way. In fact, Booker's always been a better wrestler than Rock just not a better talker.

so true man. im not mad at storm for being champion. if they did this angle with storm i wouldnt have been mad. the fuck u that hogan and bishoff and carter have done is beyond fixing. they need to get rid of hogan and bishoff. i remember when i first found tna. styles, daniels, petey williams, bobby roode, team canada, thats what the fuck i came to see every week. hell, even jarrett as champion was entertaining. not this bulshit.

I think Arn and Muta had one match where Arn won the belt. At that point, Muta was finishing up with WCW and was being jobbed out.

I agree with you on how they've handled Storm and Roode. They should slow build this and let Storm have a good run with Bully Ray and Ken Anderson before he and Roode wrestle. A slow boil like they did with Chris Daniels will be much better than them rushing it but WWE and TNA have fallen in love with hotshot angles so I'm not optimistic.

i can agree here. he had the cut before the rock. i just mean how they threw this shit together. if he wasnt doin the harlem heat thing first, then it wouldnt be so bad in my eyes. add to that the fact he starts talkin that what the eople want bullshit, cmon man. lol i was done when i saw that.

That was obviously a semi work-shoot since that looks to have been right after Russo ran Hogan out of WCW. Having heard many Booker T promos, that was some shit fed to him. Somehow they haven't noticed how that doesn't help get people over.

ECACTLY.

i feel cm punk was so successful because that worked shoot felt so damn real. maybe...because it wasnt as worked as some may think. some, if not most the shit he said, was real. in my opinion anyways. i just wanna say fuck the both of em. i wish some other stable would come out of nowhere and kick both their asses. i remember when ecw popped up....taz was my favorite. wwf knew they had comp, so they started doin those wwf vs ecw tie ins, then they got taz, and that was the beginning of the end. contrary to what some may think, i like paul heyman and always have. if he had the right funding, ecw would still be here

Ok, all I remember was AA winning the title from Muta. This is their match.

Is this the same Muta?

Same guy. Muta is incredible for so many reasons.

I like Paul too. Great mind, horrible businessman.
Me and dirtyd had a LONG talk about Punk and I always said the promo worked because it got over with "smart" fans and with casual fans because he made it accessible. You didn't have to know about backstage shit between him and HHH or Orton to get what he was saying. Too often work-shoots are way too inside and lose a large chunk of the audience.
WWE is funny. They'll tell you their competition is UFC and the NFL and "24" and mainstream shit but when one of the wrestling companies make a move, they try to cut them off. When TNA was gaining traction with their Knockouts (who were the highest rated segment on Impact!), they snatched Gail Kim. When ECW got their deal with TNN, they snatched their world champion in Taz and their world tag team champs, the Dudley Boys. When ROH got their HDNet deal, they snagged Bryan Danielson, tried to get Nigel McGuinness, and then took their world champion Tyler Black. The same shit they used to do to Crockett, scheduling Survivor Series the same day as Starrcade and the Royal Rumble around the same day as the Bunkhouse Stampede ppv.

wwf was so damn great all the way up until like 2004. 03 they were subsiding, but i loved it when jericho was the undisputed champ. damn great times. then hhh won, which i wasnt mad at, but when they jobbed him to hulk hogan i was like wtf. and to top it all off, having undertaker flop like that from dead to alive to dead was like ok....wtf yall doin. i must admit when he returned at wrestlemania XX i was cheerin like a mafucka lmao

I liked him losing to Hulk more than I did him beating Jericho. At least that was a surprise. Hogan was on his best behavior at that point. He put over Rock clean. He put over Taker. He put over Angle clean by submission. He helped elevate Edge and won the tag titles with him. Hogan knows how to help elevate other guys, he's just got to do it.

Posted by Steve Carrier on 10/19/2011 at 10:47 AM

- Sources report that WWE's Vengeance pay-per-view will be the event where John Cena finally breaks away from the WWE Title picture. Cena will be facing Alberto Del Rio in a Last Man Standing Match for Del Rio's WWE Title.

This would indicate that Del Rio is retaining the title. After Vengeance, Cena will begin the build for Survivor Series and further his feud with The Rock. Del Rio is scheduled to go into a feud with CM Punk.

Interesting. We'll see. I was thinking it would be a HUGE mistake to fuck Del Rio twice with quickie title reigns but when it comes to Cena, they like making mistakes.
Now, I seem to remember his match with Rock was supposed to be for the title. Hopefully, that will be forgotten like the Anonymous GM.

thank god. i remember being done with cena around....2006

his act is just tired. mafuckin "supercena"

beating all the odds, all the damn time. thats why when edge beat him i was so damn happy, not only did edge deserve it, but i was just tired of this dude. on the real, when i found out edge was leaving, and how they all did that dedication to him, that shit touched me. forreal, people all know that wrestling is fake, but to see something so real. when u been a fan, since you were a little kid, and u thought the undertaker was dead, and u thought austin was the best thing ever, and when u thought dx was crazy. shit like that man. to see edge leave the way he did, i was happy it was under ok terms, but i was genuinely moved by how they sent him off. great guy. oh yea...fuck you cena

Trying to coin a new term for what happened to Bobby Roode, similar to how WWE pushed and then buried Randy Orton in 2004 and from then on a guy was "Ortoned".
I like "Dibiased". Ted was in line to get the NWA World title but Jim Crockett and Ole Anderson swayed the majority of the board to vote for Ric Flair. Then Dibiase was booked to win the WWF title in 88 but they gave it to Savage because HonkyTonk Man refused to job to him for the IC title.

Yep in the 80's their were many deserving guys to be a world champ in at least one of the big three promotions(NWA WWF AWA).

Ted Dibiase
Bruiser Brody
Rowdy Roddy Piper
Big John Studd
Jake the Snake Roberts
Stan Hansen
Arn Anderson
Dr. Death Steve Williams
Paul Orndorff
Jerry Lawler
Don Muraco
King Kong Bundy
Hacksaw Butch Reed
Greg The Hammer Valentine
Tito Santana
Bad News Brown
Mr. USA Tony Atlas
Barry Windham
Nikoli Volkoff

It was a crime IMO that not one on my list above won the NWA, WWF, or AWA world title in the 80's. If anyone disagree with any on my list let's debate:cool:. Also any admissions can be added.

From NoDq
It's said that Vince McMahon has developed a love-hate relationship with the WWE Divas. The mentality is that both RAW and SmackDown have to have one segment with the Divas. Vince is convinced that Divas segment is needed because it draws in a certain demographic.

When the Divas segments and matches are actually going on, it's said that Vince feels they are a waste of time. This is part of the reason he has Michael Cole act the way he does when the Divas are out.

So he must've been asleep all of 02-04 then, and he thinks a 15min Michael Cole match at Wrestlemania was must see tv:smh:

Stan Hansen won the AWA title during the 80's.Unfortunately they had an issue and he left for Japan.
Hansen competed in the American Wrestling Association (AWA) in 1985-1986 and won the AWA World Heavyweight Championship on December 29, 1985, from Rick Martel. On June 29, 1986, he no-showed a title defense against the #1 contender Nick Bockwinkel, forcing the AWA to default the title to Bockwinkel. Rumors suggest that Hansen was actually in the building that evening and had been informed by AWA promoter Verne Gagne of the pending loss to Bockwinkel. Hansen allegedly called All Japan Pro Wrestling president Giant Baba to ask if losing the championship was acceptable, but Baba had already lined up challengers for Hansen and did not permit Hansen to drop the championship. At the time, Hansen was already in a feud with Verne's son Greg, in which Hansen as determined to hog-tie Greg and 'make him squeal like a pig'. Eventually, Hansen was too much for the young and brash Greg Gagne, and on a episode of All-Star Wrestling, Hansen hog-tied Greg and proceeded to make him squeal in front of his fans, friends, family and father.[4] As a result, Hansen refused to drop the title to Bockwinkel and was stripped of the championship; Bockwinkel was given one of the tag team belts (billed as the AWA World Heavyweight Championship), because Hansen was still in possession of the physical title belt. Hansen immediately returned to Japan and defended the AWA World Heavyweight Championship, despite being stripped of it. The AWA threatened legal action if Hansen continued to carry the belt and refer to himself as the organization's champion, so Hansen responded by running over the belt with his truck and mailing it back with the mud tracks still on it. This chain of events was reviewed in an interview with Hansen at an NWA Legends convention, in which he expressed regret over the way he handled the situation and ultimately complimented Gagne

I actually don't think most of those guys were world champion quality guys. Hansen and Lawler actually were AWA champs. Brody was unreliable as shit. Jake, Muraco and Piper had bad drug habits. Tony Atlas couldn't talk for shit (and still can't). Nikolai, Bundy and Studd were good big heels but they weren't world champion good. Tito, Arn and Greg were great but they lacked that "thing". They were right where they should have been regional and secondary champs that got world title shots occassionally.
I do think Butch Reed and Steve Williams should have been world champs. Dibiase would have been WWF champion but politics fucked him up (just like Bobby Roode). Bad News says WWF brought him in with the promise of putting the belt on him.

Why would you have your commentator bury your product even if you personally don't care for a particular segment? That shit is stupid and self defeating. I betcha if he was still a commentator Vince wouldn't do that or allow Jesse or Bobby to do it while they were working color. The older he gets, the worse his thinking gets.

Both are good.

Rude had a bad drug habit and a bad temper. You can't make a druggie your world champ. Dude showed up in bad shape to a ppv match with Ric Flair.
For an addict to get the strap in any of the Big Three of the time, you have to have serious political pull and even then you don't get a long run (Kerry Von Erich). That didn't change until Shawn Michaels got the WWF title in the late 90s from Bret Hart.

About the Hansen-AWA title situation, according to him, that's not quite what happened.
The call to Baba happened after he had already walked out on Gagne. He didn't like the fact that Verne had told practically everyone about the change except him and he hadn't made close to the amount of money he thought he should have been making as champ so he thought the change was happening too soon.
He, once again according to Hansen, "accidentally" ran over the belt with his tractor four times. Oops.
I still watch the old AWA matches on ESPN Classics and there was no feud with Greg Gagne. Not saying there weren't any matches but he had little mini-feuds with Curt Hennig and Jerry Blackwell but nothing sustained, something he complained about in his book.
I was at that Legends convention and the Hansen Q&A and he wasn't very specific about that except to offer his regret on how things went. He wasn't going to be very specific because he was selling his book. But he did speak highly about Nick Bockwinkel, who was in the audience.

TNA had/has some ugly broads as but at one point they were drawing more than the men in the ratings.

Going by ratings, Awesome Kong and later Angelina Love were the top stars for the company.
It always has to come down to in ring skills if they decide to make them wrestlers. Bad matches, no matter how hot the Diva or Knockout, kill shows. Give me and most wrestling fans a nice looking woman who can wrestle over extremely hot looking model who's the shits in the ring anyday.
There is a place for hot chicks that can't work and it's called being a valet or manager.

speaking of TNA Knockouts it seems gail kim has returned to TNA after all..and apparently as a heel according to the spoilers i read

TNA got away with it because the women were distinctive and they could wrestle. Also they had Gail Kim and The Beautiful People featured prominently who were attractive and then Awesome Kong who was so different from all the other female wrestlers and was a draw as the indestructable heel.

Yes it is and that belief was used well with Trish,Lita and even Melina to a lesser degree.
Right now I'd keep Eve,Beth and Nattie(who I both find to be attractive),Layla,AJ,Alicia Fox and maybe Tamina and then bring up Naomi and sign Mia Yim who is very attractive and wrestles and Cheerleader Melissa and/or Sara del Ray.Of course it'll never happen.I heard a story about the Bella Twins where when they were in FCW they contacted the WWE and gave them an ultimatum to bring them up or they were leaving and the company brought them up to the main roster.

Yep. Problem is they've already had the first Kim-Tara match, a match they should have saved for a ppv when they have more time.
