To me, it doesn't matter what gender or race the assailants were.
The facts still remain that the cashier was doing his legitimate job in checking whether the $50 bill he'd been given by the customer was valid before she took offense and began to verbally abuse the guy.
Emboldened by the fact that said guy chose to smile at her insults rather than engage her in a slanging match she then proceeded to lunge over the counter to deliver a slap to his face which constitutes assault in itself before leaping over the counter in pursuit of said cashier with her friend coming sideways from the right hand side of the screen.
The two women proceed to move aggressively towards the cashier before attacking him. He proceeds to defend himself with a kitchen implement, subduing his assailants and continues to hit them every time they tried to rise to their feet all the while telling them to "stay down".
Should he have continued smiting them whilst they were writhing on the floor?
Maybe not. But it cannot be argued that the assailants had not placed themselves in this unfortunate position due to their own lack of decorum and civility.
The two women in this case were extremely stupid and only have themselves to blame for whatever injuries they suffered as a consequence of said stupidity.
The Cashier's previous criminal conviction has no bearing on whether what he did in this instance was wrong or right but it will no doubt have consequences as to how his case is viewed in court with a possible conviction to follow thus further insuring that another minority male takes up space on the already overcrowded conveyor belt of the prison complex industry.
After all is said and done, this scenario is sad and unfortunate on so many levels for the simple fact that when it comes to right and wrong some people choose to get it twisted rather than sticking to what's right in front of their very eyes.
I personally tend to try and steer clear from any of the ridiculous Black men vs Black Women threads and posts that tend to proliferate within this forum with much frequency but it never seizes to amaze me how vocal some posters become when they scent blood in the gender war waters of BGOL.
