Well, now that Apple has announced the iPhone 4S, there’s only one other flagship on the horizon that people are eagerly anticipating and that’s the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Codenamed “Nexus Prime,” the Galaxy Nexus is a phone we have scooped on numerous occasions, and now we can paint a complete picture of the device thanks to new information from a trusted source. Here’s what Samsung and Google will unveil next Tuesday:

*Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
*9mm thin
*4.65-inch 1280 x 720-pixel Super AMOLED HD with curved glass
*Exynos chipset with two cores clocked at 1.5GHz each
*1GB of RAM
*32GB of built-in storage
*5-megapixel camera on the back, 1.3-megapixel in the front
*1080p HD video capture support
*LTE/HSPA depending on carrier
*Wi-Fi a/b/g/n
*NFC
*2050 mAh battery

We have confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be a pure Google Experience device without any third-party UI or modifications, so no TouchWiz on this one, guys. Also, one notable feature of Ice Cream Sandwich? The ability to monitor each app’s data usage on the device. Lastly, we’re still hearing that the Galaxy Nexus will be a Verizon Wireless exclusive here in the U.S., so it’s time to check out those contract end-dates if you’re on another carrier and you plan to scoop up the latest pure Google smartphone.

5mp camera? Nah. Verizon? fuck nah patnah

Past 5MP it’s more about the lens and the actual sensor quality. And the higher the MP count, the better the sensor needs to be to actually maintain the same level of colour quality and low light performance. The iPhone 4 shits on any phone out in the market, even phones currently with 8MP cameras in them. Besides professionals, does the average consumer really need MP over 8?

I'll let the iPhone tell me that.

nice specs my droid 3 is an omap 4430 so i should be able to get ics...this has a slight clock speed boost as well... if this goes well i'll get the droid 4 next yr since it's already being tested and hopefully google makes that a stock experience as well...

Wish sprint had spent 20billion on this, and not the iphone 4s

I have the epic touch 4g, and the only two things I wish it had were the increased resolution, and maybe the htc beats better dac

the specs r incorrect, its a 1.5ghz dual core omap 4460 with an 8mp camera and it had a tablet dock that when u plug it in turns the device into a tablet...

this thing might make me reconsider keyboard only phones...

My SSG2 camera looks so much better.

Im still waiting to see what phones Tmobile is going to offer on their new $30 unlimited web and text 4G plan. Its only ten days away and they havent announced what phones will be available. Even if its just a plain 1Ghz. I think its worth it. But something tells me the fastest phone for the plan will be the Optimus T. But we'll see.

Damn they behind like that?

Tomorrows event had been cancelled due to the death of Steve Jobs. I guess they were gonna bash the fuck out of Apple in their presentation, but it would of looked bad on Google and Samsung if they did.

will be announced the 27th instead next week Droid Razr and Droid HD get announced then Nexus Prime. google is said to be prepping something mind blowing and new leaks of ics hit the web last week showing a very different android os.

This is pretty dope so far, was hoping to see more this week

I'm especially interested in seeing ice cream sandwich

Either The Nexus Prime, the Droid Razr or the HTC Raider/Holiday will be the next phone that I get. I Can't wait to hear what each device offers and what they look like.

I still wanna know what the key features of ICS are.

So...
Motorola's Razr and Droid HD unveil: October 18
Samsung Nexus Prime and Ice Cream Sandwich unveil: October 25
HTC Raider/Holiday unveil: November 1

It's gonna be a great holiday season for Android.

A lot of insiders that had a chance to play with both the Nexus Prime and the Razr are saying that the Razr is a better phone then the Nexus Prime. I like the look and feel of Motorola phones. Samsung phone have a cheap plastic feel to them.

Why a 5MP camera? That is what the iphone4 is rocking currently :smh:

Samsung Galaxy S II

The Galaxy SII is a 8MP camera right? Damn sharp looking picture though. So it will (and should) look better than the 5MP iPhone4.

http://www.digicamhelp.com/camera-features/camera-parts/megapixels/

"Digital cameras capture images as pixel elements, known as pixels. Simply put, a megapixel is equal to one million pixels.

Digital images are made up of thousands of these tiny, tile-like picture elements. The more pixels, the higher the image resolution.

Resolution relates primarily to print size and the amount of detail an image has when viewed on a computer monitor at 100%.
Elements of picture quality

The number of megapixels is only one aspect relating to the quality of a camera, or the actual quality of a photo it is capable of producing. Factors such as camera sensor and processor, and the optical quality of a lens, play equally important roles"
