Official BREAKING BAD Season 4 Discussion Thread 10p SUNDAYS

The show has A LOT of 'oh shit' moments and I really like it but that's why I could never put it on the level of shows like The Wire or Sopranos or w/e...it's just not realistic...it's like The Shield to me...fun to watch but highly implausible

That's where alot of that comes from too so take your time. Just understand that Walt can & will Never be anywhere near any or everything Gus has created & accomplished within the constraints of that game & in business no matter how many muggs he justifiably kills.

Sorry im not a big time criminal like you ninjas

How was i suppose to know

You were serious?? See this is why I won't agree w/ you that it was Gus on the phone...dude just came from the DEA and I'm sure the black guy even reported to Gus that the room was clean of bugs and shit in preparation for Gus coming thru...that won't Gus on the phone man...a bomb detector? No it was a specific machine for detecting Walt...to see if he was hiding behind a curtain and shit...na BenQ you fuckin w/ us...you knew that won't a bomb detector

I didn't log back on after the show was over...I was worried somebody woulda made a thread w/ spoilers in the title...on some "Oh shit they blew up Gus!" as the thread title and shit
Hate when ninjas do that shit. I've learned just to log off BGOL at certain points. If there is a movie or show that I haven't seen yet, I stay the fuck away from here. Despite 20 pages threads dedicated to some shit, one ninja will post a "Oh SHIT! Game of Thrones! They _____ _____!!!!!!" :hmm:

 I knew better

People don't even think about the people on west coast time

while it is obvious that walt did not render assistance, i wouldn't hang a murder on walt for a junkie who was about to asphyxiate on her own vomit.

I would place those people that died in those planes colliding on Walter though. Had he helped Jane, she would have survived, her pops would not have been distraught and distracted in the Air Traffic Control tower. And those people would have lived.

Walter White is one murderous Muthafucka.

Yo watch the guy in the wheelchair eyes...I had to watch it 2x to figure out how Gus was tipped off even before he rang the bell...@ 1st he looks like he's full of sorrow then he gives Gus the "gotcha bitch" look of hate a split moment before he rings the bell...that alone made the scene brilliant...but damn...Gus walking out that room...made me think the blast was weak or only damaged a portion of the room...then I'm like wait something look diff about Gus face...oh he don't have his glasses damn how this nigga survive this shit...then I seen the rest of that nigga face...yo that shit is gonna fuck w/ me...I expect shit like that from Walking Dead and shit...not Breaking Bad...I don't think I have seen anything that graphic on cable tv...wasn't ready for that...classic fuckin scene

I think that was the first time that Tio Hector had ever made direct eye contact with Gus! Remember in their earlier meetings, Gus would always say, "Look at me Hector" and Hector would always look away or to the side. For a while, I thought he was simply unable to look at Gus because of the stroke, and Gus was fucking with him because of that.

this show is a notch above the comedic WEEDS. far far far below THE WIRE.

for one thing, meth cooks don't cake like walt.

But he's supplying the southwest and his product is 96.2% pure

It's more than a notch, Weeds has been pretty bad since U-Turn was killed.

question for those who have watched the season finale:

was it an oversight to NOT have the laundry facility equipped with a halon or basic overhead water sprinkler fire extinguishing system?

Come on son!!! Had that bitch who was threatening to blackmail and extort Walt lived, she fucks up everything. Telling on Walt gets Jesse in the bing too, or worse dies from an overdose, as well as she dies from an overdose of her grief and he still fucks up on the job. Had he not took his ass back to work those people live

hawaiian ice has been superior to mexico/california meth in purity for YEARS and hasn't produced wealthy dealers (of gus' magnitude).

the money in methamphetamine is small compared to the long dollars of cocaine.

but we can forgive the writers for some creative license. after all, the xfiles wasn't necessarily true to FBI protocol either.

i'm looking forward to next season to see what direction the writers have walt move in; with the elimination of gustavo, there went walt's distribution channels and manufacturing facilities. in terms of infrastructure, walt is WORSE off than when he was in the RV.

THIS is what I was & am saying:smh::hmm:
Again, if he wasn't shooting his mouthoff, drunk to make Hank take a 2nd look @ what he already assumed, would he have these problems?:hmm:

& Jesse cooked 96% puro sur of the border.
Isn't Walt's blue even more potent like 99%?

I'm gonna change my vote I think Walt did poison the kid but not with Ricin. It was probably something curable like plant poison or something. Jesse was right the dude did take the cigarette off of him and Saul did give the kid the poison probably in some candy like he gave the kid last time he saw them. I bet Walt give saul his very last dollar to do it and that's why Saul was leaving. He had just been paid a few 100 grand and he knew that after doing that favor he chose a side and if it doesn't turn out right he would be dead.

That explains why Gus didn't get into the car when he heard the kid was poisoned he probably figured Walt did it and that it was part of some plan to get at him. He may not know that Jesse is involved but I wouldn't be surprised.

Also yeah some people are going to DIEEEE!!!

In hindsight the biggest mistake all season made by Walt and Skylar were overreacting. Like someone said if Walt hadn't ever told Mike he wanted to Kill Gus I think Gus would of let dudes rock as just his cooks. Also Skylar should have never gave Ted that fucking money to begin with. If she had been really about Ted would of died and she would have 650k more in the bank.

Yeah I called it kind of early....

without gustavo, walt lost:

connect for precursor chemicals (the single MOST important element for a cook)
stable, covert location for high yield manufacturing
established distribution channels

walt "won" if winning = earning an opportunity to get out of the game.

in season 5 we may see walt more like al pacino from godfather 3 (just when i thought i was out...) than al pacino from scarface.

This meth shit is boring.. I hope Walt moves on to cocaine next season.

Why? this ain't 1980 man...Meth is gaining momentum as the most popular addict drug in the Western Hemisphere right now....in 10 years, that shit is going to be a real epidemic, like how crack came in early 80s and by mid 90s, it was an epidemic.

But THAT Michael (no matter how many folk HATE that flick ) had $, POWER, the ability to rally those he worked with & @ least had reasoning behind his actions other than fuck ups & covering for the fuck ups more like a combo of Sonny & Fredo.

I feel u though but I was :smh::puke: when they got to destroying those facilities; they could have shipped them two bodies in barrels but Walt's ass would have probably found a way to ruin that wet dream also:hmm:

Like u said, Walt won to win like satisfying a character flaw instead of thinking for the long term especially all them bills he amassed.
he has no choice BUT to get "pulled back in" as he wasnt thinking 5 steps ahead a la Gus. Walt has BEEN lost once he started beefing with Gus & paniacing, instead of establishing a working relationship with someone he should have learned more from.

 @ Hank straight up & down walking (Again) into the meeting & also walking in after Marie was talking that bowlshit.

Walt has roughly close to half a mil and a legit business he good no need to sell Meth if he don't wanna, thing is at this point Walt is a criminal, and a criminal will find a way.

Walt is paying for Hank's rehab. If they don't cover that, Hank is screwed. Plus his son is getting close to college. The carwash hasn't turned a profit yet.

He definitely needs to step up his paper. All this goes back to the original premise of the show – Walt providing for his family. He was worried about the cancer getting him, then his main concern was Gus getting him.

Godfather 3? What the fuck is that? Godfather 3 doesn't exist.

You serious?

But U know Hank's walking right? I mentioned that in my post - watch the scene when he comes into the station right after Marie was screaming that he's not going anywhere from the house.
He wasnt using a wheelchair if Im not mistaken in the wrap up.
He'll be doing cartwheels by the next show.
But like u said, he still has bills & has to pay off balances that he or she said they would.

wow was i wrong
gus let that personal vendetta get him killed, his only weakness
and walt actually did poison the little kid
WOW
he actually did it
:smh::smh:
he's gonna die next season

Maybe I saw it wrong but I thought they explained that little sweet berries and shit that kid ate wasn't some harmful shit?

I think Hank's walking and loosing the next brace was just to portray strength. I think they thought if Hank came in there looking weak the old dude wouldn't respect him and not tell them shit. Notice at the end of the scene at the elevator Hank is using the walker again.

Boy were they wrong because his old ass was trying to get the nurse to tell Hank to suck his ____. I was rolling :lol:

The show lost me a bit this week. The only way for this show to end properly is for Walt and his entire family to die brutally. The simple fact is that if Gustavo was making as much money as he appeared to making off meth, he has a lot of connections that look to him for their supply. So if Walt's making 7.5 million a year as a chemist and Jesse is making the same. 15 million a year. Which mean's Gus is probably making ten times that. Then whoever Gus sells to is making millions off his product. Walt just destroyed that network.

How am I after watching the Mexican drug gangs do to people that fuck up their networks going to buy anything but the brutal annihilation of Walt and his family? I won't.

If Gilligan takes these series anywhere but to its logical conclusion, I won't much buy it. No way Walt survives killing a dealer on the level of Gus. Too much money flowing from Gus. You kill the money train, you die. Too many people have seen both Jesse and Walt at the laundry as well as all the recorded video Gus has to avoid them being known.

I've invested four years watching the show. I'll check out the next season just to see what's up. But I think they lost me this season. Only way I'll ever consider this show even close to on par with The Wire, The Shield or any of the great dramas is if it ends the way it should. I don't mean just Walt dying. I mean full on retaliation.

As in fully circle Walt ends up destroying that which was his entire original purpose for getting into the drug business: his family. And brutally too. If Breaking Bad wants to stay true to its nature, then Walt and his family should end up like Tuco, Tortuga, Eladio, and Gustavo. This isn't about winning, because there is no winning in the drug business. It's dirty and there is always someone smarter, dirtier, and more evil than you.

you guys are being way too critical.

1st off, I think Walt would want out after all of this. He has a lot of money still and the car wash. He doesn't need to cook anymore unless this "bad" side totally consumed him... but it didn't. Yes, Walt is turning bad... but he did it all to protect his family.

Now, someone says it doesn't make sense for Walt to get away like that. He is the leading role of the show. Yes, the show is on point as far as writting, but its still a TV show. If you guys read that interview someone posted of Vince Gilligan (the creator).. he said when they decided who was going to die Walt or Gus... they had to choose Gus because this is Walt's show. If Walt dies, I think its going to be from cancer if anything. Its going to take a whole season for those guys to even find out who killed Gus. Mean seiously, how much of these dealers of Gus knows about Walt? I highly doubt it... Gus kept Walt under the wraps.

All I know is next year's Emmys... Breaking Bad is cleaning house again. Competition is tougher with Boardwalk Empire, The Walking Dead, and Game of Thrones... but niggas ain't fucking with Bryan Cranston in the lead role category. And Gus HAS TO win supporting role... no doubt about it.

I thought Gus survived at first and said come on how could he survive that, then camera pan,WOW...HOLY...S**T and he falls.
I wonder if the writers want us to truly dislike/hate Walt so if he perishes next season,we will say hey its karma he got what he deserved.

I just wanted to add that Giancarlo Esposito was Fucking Excellent. He's come a long way from being Spike Lee's go to guy.

I hope this brings him some major recognition and more roles.
