Im in Chicago and man a nigga cant get anything out here. I know folks with 4 year degrees and cant get a gig at Burger King. Anybody else's city feeling that sting too?:smh:

Truth is a lot of the folks who don t have jobs....14.4 million....

they aren t gonna be getting them....

A lot of these cats are last hired first fired.....

Naw I am actually good, I make a decent living online Im speaking for the folks who are desperately trying to find a gig and cant even though they are highly qualified for them.

not that hard out here really

but too many of them gonna have your ass on a phone about to lose ya damn mind

Out of curiosity what type of work do you do online. I'm in the I.T. field and wanting to pick up a legit online side-gig.

Your own business is the way to go...Just get that capital up then get the plan then go for the kill.

first problem..bruthas is thinkin city...try the world....move if you have too
Fam most that want to do that do not have the resources to pick up and move.

You need more people

:dunno:, Look on CL "Assembly, Data transfer"... When I applied the company name wasn't listed or anything just "data transfer/A+, associate prefered for xxxxxx position", along those lines. I have experience doing similar duty at NCR 3 years. No degree or certification. Talked A-1 game at the interview however...

I stay in a small city, ain't nothing here but temp agencies. I've been looking 2 years for a permanent job and i have a 4yr degree.

In the D/M/V, there's tons of jobs if you have the right skillset. Java, Oracle, SQL Server, C#, PHP, MySQL, Flex, Sharepoint, CRM, and ERP. Unfortunately, I'm not fully qualified in any of them. So, I was unemployed for the last 6mos. Now, I have 2 jobs: Developer at an investment firm and a Systems Engineer at a web hosting company. Working 2 fulltime jobs SUCK but, it's helluva lot better than being unemployed and eating ketchup soap and saltines every meal.

I don't believe you. I don't believe in a city the size of Chicago there is NO work at all. There are jobs there, they might not be what you want to do and it may not pay what you want, but don't tell me there's no work to be found.

Starting your own business is the only way to go. You'll never get rich working for someone else, because you'll be too buy making them rich...........

Depends. In NYC there are plenty of jobs, problem is they are skilled positions the average man doesn't qualify for. In Rochester jobs are booming if you are in medical/human services fields, literally jobs on top of jobs.

A lot of Employers cant afford to pay more then minumum wage. So you cant work for less then minumum wage.

Which means you cant get a job even if you really wanted to.

1.Austria: none by law; instead, nationwide collective bargaining agreements set minimum wages by job classification for each industry; the accepted unofficial annual minimum wage is €12,000 to €14,000.
2.Brunei
3.Denmark
4.Finland: not in law; however, the law requires all employers, including nonunionized ones, to meet the minimum wages agreed to in collective bargaining agreements in each sector of the workforce; almost all workers are covered under such arrangements
5.Germany: none by law (but in discussion); collective bargaining agreements set minimum wages by job classification for each industry and region; however, these agreements apply only to employers who are full members of an employers’ association (the vast majority of German employers are members)
6.Hong Kong: applies only to foreign labor.
7.Iceland: none; minimum wages are negotiated in various collectively bargained agreements and applied automatically to all employees in those occupations, regardless of union membership; while the agreements can be either industry- or sector-wide, and in some cases firm-specific, the minimum wage levels are occupation-specific.
8.Italy: none by law; instead set by a collective bargaining agreements on a sector-by-sector basis; when an employer and a union fail to reach an agreement, courts may determine fair wages on the basis of practice in comparable activities, although this rarely occurs in practice.
9.Norway
10.Singapore
11.Sweden: none by law; set by collective bargaining contracts every year

Countries w/out minimum wage

In the city I live in, there are always jobs just have to make sacrifices and get paid less.

There's also Manhattan next door where about 100+ clones that have the same skill set and situation as you vying for the same job. You have to separate yourself somehow.

Did you teach yourself or did you go to school to learn those skills?

If your unemployed and have some time you might want to find something you might think you would like to do and do an unpaid internship. Its what I did for my second gig and now it pays more then my other job.

How is he gonna get capital if he doesn't have a job? :smh:

I swear brothers and this work for myself bullshit. Its an instant fail if you don't have a marketable product and aren't willing to work all the damn time to get it off the ground.
