JERRY RICE: Moss' Laziness A Slap In The Face

he's been sacked the most because of the line you need to get fixed.
david carr used to get sacked more frequent than him, but you wouldn't equate carr with toughness now would you?

i think he does mail it in when shit doesn't go his way, his body language is telling
if shit is firing on all cylinders you see how he acts
when the chips are down you see how he acts
it goes both ways.
just what i think of cutler and he has a whole career to prove me wrong...and i wouldn't be mad if he did

I wouldn't say Carr was soft, just like I wouldn't say that about Cutler or any other quarterback. There's not a quarterback in the league who isn't tough or is soft, because if you were, you wouldn't have made it to the NFL. I don't equate having 300 pound lineman running at you and having five seconds to get rid of the ball as being soft.

Bad body language is different from not being tough.

I took it as he was disappointed that he was injured and didn't want to be bothered with anyone. He does that when he's healthy. That's his personality.

I don't have a dog in the fight either way.

I will say this, I find it hard to believe that someone is so talented that they are the definition of lazy after doing something above and beyond for a decade and a half.

What always intrigues me, and this is a bit of topic, where does talent end and hard work begin to maintain said talent? NFL ain't an environment for "just talented". Hard work has to go in there somewhere if you have had any type of longevity.

Seriously?

I didn't know the guy by picture...

Deion Sanders: Two words or less, when I call out a name, tell me what you think.

Darrelle Revis: OK.

Sanders: T.O.

Revis: Slouch.

Sanders: Randy Moss.

Revis: Probably say slouch, too.

Sanders: Chad Ochocinco.

Revis: Competitor.

Sanders: Steve Smith.

Revis: Competitor.

Sanders: Andre Johnson.

Revis: Beast.

:ssshhh:

no doubt he was still a good QB and I never saw him as a cause for KC not winning, they just had a depth problem and an over rated coach. But Montana after that hit wasn't the same cold mother fucker

Did you forget the Monday Night miracle that season??? That was all Joe. Marty isn't overrated...he just can't get it done in the post season.

in the 80s and 70s, QBs had it rough, now you can't even breath on them
Brady nor Peyton haven't had to face the pass rushers that Montana had to face.
What Giants did to Brady was love taps. Brady never had to face the Giants 3-4 with LT, Pepper Johnson, Carl Banks, and Steve DeOssie with Bellichek calling the blitzs
after this hit Montana never played the same way again, to me he always seemed slightly retarded after this...

This hit would have never happened today....he would have been fined for that helmet in the back...and probably ejected...

I think Belichick was so arrogant believing the game plan that work during the last week of the season would work against the Giants again...That have more to do with Josh McDummy being a horrible offensive caller...

I dont understand why he try to throw the ball deep on every pass when the Giants defensive line was getting to Brady every time on top of that they didnt even try to run the ball in that game I believe...

Josh had New England putting up RECORD NUMBERS all year... The Giants... unlike MOST OTHER TEAMS... just didn't give a fuck... Plus, the Giants felt like they left money on the table... So... they decided to STOMP THEIR MONEY OUT OF THE PATS...

It's just amazing to watch BLUNT defend Randy Moss over comments that Jerry Rice... when BLUNT has MADE VERY SAME COMMENTS about Randy Moss...:lol::lol:

Marty got champion $$$ but can't do it in the post? As I said over rated...

Montana came back as a good QB, he was still better than 90% of the league but he wasn't playing at the level he was before the hit - one step slower, and definitely careful - Madden was saying it too. No knock on Montana, that hit would have traumatized anyone.

aint it though

nobody in here is denying the dudes greatness

Jerry sees a dude in Moss who COULD HAVE broken his records if he had worked harder because he is a talent the NFL had never seen at the position

dude didnt even play hard all the time and look at the numbers he put up

and yes Moss shined on that nigga Revis after he was talking all that shit and cant cover him man to man

And it sucks for Rice that Moss broke his TD record in just his FIRST season playing with the type of quality QB that Rice had the luxury of playing his WHOLE career with.

The thing about the record, Rice set the record IN 12 FUCKING GAMES!!!

That's 29 TD catches if he continued that pace if they played 16 games.

nothing new to add. Jerry had a shorter season and great QBs, howeve if there is anyone to talk about work ethic as a WR its that man. I mean didnt they do a segment on his workout before games a couple times. the most recent one i recall was when he was with the raiders and dude was still pushing himself HARD, i mean that is something you dont coach. Rice wanted it an he worked hard for it.

Moss from his attitude in MN BOTH times has shown both on the field an off the field he could really care less about the game. dude was tall and fast which is a dream for a wideout but he was mostly one dimensional. I was and still am a fan of moss but I am a bigger fan of rice. Dude isnt sayin this shit to kick moss while hes down. If anything Rice wants to see if the biggest challenger to his stats will actually step up to the plate and prove him wrong. Rice is always competing.

Well said. And that's really what separates the two. Randy didn't give a damn, Jerry did and has 3 rings to show for it, along with the respect of his peers, a HOF induction, the crown as the greatest receiver in history and virutally every receiving record.

^^^he didn't so he's not still a top wr of all time
he gotta live with that
not us

A first ballot hall of famer isn't a top Wide Receiver of all time

People during the past week were saying he was top five. I'm not sure if I agree with that, but being a top ten all time receiver is nothing to sneeze at.

Rice is just protecting his own reputation and status. Pretty obvious. He doesn't know shit about Moss, beyond the stereotype. And he's still pissed that Moss broke his TD record.

And the fact is, if a supposedly half-assed Moss nearly surpassed Rice as a player then it doesn't say much for Rice. If Moss had decided to hang on until he was 40 the way Rice did he would've easily topped all of his records.

I loved Rice and his work ethic, but I agree. He is just protecting his own legacy. I feel he was really threatened for a moment that Moss would break his records and, despite what he says publicly, he never wanted that to happen and it's obvious. Even when Moss did break the record, Jerry said that he did it in less games. That's true, of course. But the player whose record was broken should never be the one to point that out, IMHO. That should be left to the media. It just looked like sour grapes when he said it himself.

i said he didn't so he's not meaning he didn't work as hard so he's not better than jerry.
proceeded to say he's still a top wr of all time an all time great that could have been even greater
but he's got to live with that not me.
i enjoyed moss on the field and the quotes off of it im not frustrated with him like others seem to be.
he did his thing, dominated when he could and was always a threat until the end.

edit: that was my bad didn't include the COMMA in my original post that you quoted
makes a difference
