the kamado joe.

They are both Kamado style cookers, they both have lifetime warranties.

I don't see any proof that its better built and the BGE has been around longer.

Primo makes a oval shaped unit.

I got a new Weber grill last month. I love it. To me, Weber grills are good quality. That's why they are more $$$.

My son got me this for fathers dad, already had a 55-gallon barrel grill that I had for almost 10+years.

Gas grill = No flavor :smh:

Charcoal grill > gas all day long

You must have PLENTY of time on
your hands. Charcoal grills are high-maintenance.
I start cooking and finish wayyy before you.
Flavor is in your spices...if you know
what your doing

I fucks with the Smokey Joe Weber Kettle Simpsons Edition 14", the Weber Smokey Mountain Smoker and a Charbroil Grill. I hunt for a 27" Weber Kettle although they are available for $300 Brand new. Nothing better than a Charcoal Grill by weber.

Not with a Weber Performer. The charcoal lights just as easily and as fast as a gas grill.

Btw, no self respecting pit master cooks on a propane grill.

No real bbq person brags on using gas man. hmmm you didn't mention anything about using wood for smoke flavor. Yea seasoning is important but gas won't give you the same finished product as charcoal/wood. You have to really work with a gas grill to get a good product. Shit I can take a cheap charcoal girl that holds heat. Add some wood and charcoal and have niggas begging for more. I'm about to buy me a Big Green Egg asap I get back in town.

There are over 8 different Kamado style grills on the market and I'm quite sure people have their favorites for whatever reason but they all do the same thing at different price points.

Grill Dome owners swear by theirs also.

And if you wanna spend big paper.

The Primo is the only one made in the USA, which would be better for parts availability.

Gospel.....

This is the Weber I have. I love it. Great Charcoal grill. To hell with gas. I don't cook shit using gas....not even hotdogs.

The person who said the flavor is all in your spices doesn't know what the hell he is talking about. Charcoal adds a layer of flavor that is unobtainable on a gas grill. Compare the taste of a good steak, chicken, or ribs cooked over charcoal and that cooked on a gas grill. Charcoal wins every time. There is a reason why ALL the well known BBQ joints use charcoal/wood and not gas.

Also, it only takes 10-15 extra minutes to get your charcoal lit and hot if you use a chimney starter. Less time then that if you use the lighting system on the Weber performer. I would gladly wait that extra time to get the flavor charcoal brings. Cooking ain't about a race, its about the quality and taste of the items you took the time to purchase and prepare.

Green Egg and Weber gas here.

Obviously, some here don't know what they're talking about because most Weber gas grills have smoker boxes.

But what yall know about these?:D Cuban dude put me up on these a few years back.

I use to live and die by Kingsford charcoal until I went to a BBQ contest and had some meat off of a pellet grill. The heat was perfectly even, texture of the meat was perfect and everything. I plan on getting a Traeger, but there were several different brands out there.

GTFOH - Anyone that tells me they be grilling and uses a propane or gas grill gets no burn in my world.. Just might be the dumbest statement I ever heard, I can cook in one of my two ovens betta than any fool can cook on propane, If it ain't burning wood or charcoal, You a clown!:lol::lol::lol:

I will never own a gas grill

It just goes against how I was raised

Pops fuck around come to my shit and see a gas grill and hit me with one of these

I feel you. I gotta have the Kingsford charcoal and lighter fluid. That's what i'm accustomed to.

if you're going to go gas you HAVE to go w/a Weber, and be prepared to spend at least $600-$700 if you want one w/at least 3 zones (vertically as opposed to horizontally) to slow cook anything. i swear by mine which i've had for years...no problems, while my friends w/non Webers are constantly replacing parts. can't argue w/the charcoal v. gas debate (cannot beat the taste of charcoal), but i can't justify the time and money (for charcoal) just to cook two chicken breasts. ultimately it comes down to personal preference, or in my case convenience.

Ummmm, last time I checked the FINEST Restaurants
in the world use Propane and their food is excellent
actually wins awards. If you want to use charcoal as
an excuse for flavor YOUR A CLOWN. My marinades handle
my food just good. So change your charcoal ashes and burn your
food....SUCKERS!

Go ahead and get that webber. I got the kettle 22 inch and the cover for 110. As the brotha said above me - hollered at bbq boys on youtube and learned the indirect cooking method. I went to Lowes and got a weber charcoal chimney. Only use Stubbs - natural charcoal without the large, irregular shaped chunks.

Now my father has a big green egg - Large. That's a whole notha level. Damn thing is heavy as shit and can hold heat for days! Not kidding. Cooking a rump? Just set it and forget it. Cooks with the temp accuracy of a gas grill. Plus the charcoal lasts for days. Shit is unbeatable in my book.

I'm also in the market for a new grill, keep up the discussions. I'm leaning towards the big green egg type grill :D:yes::yes:
