Game Of Thrones: The Sopranos with swords or Dynasty in chainmail?

Letting that scout loose:smh:, Robb proved that he is just as Naive as his Father.

Like Cersei said--> "In the Game Of Thrones, you either Win or Die".

the scout counted 20k men when he only has 18 its pretty obvious why he let him go

I couldn't give a fuck less about this pedestrian CAC fantasy. As soon as I caught wind of the white supremacist subtext of all of that First Men crap (which was ripped-off from the equally racist Dúnedain (Aragorn's tribe) from LoTR) I summarily deleted the episodes I had and watched no more. :hmm:

Your loss. I'd clown you if I didn't understand your reservations..... but you're definitely projecting your expectations onto Martin's work. He paints his world in many more shades of grey then Tolkein did.

This show is flawless; literally.

I hope they follow the actual series. The second season being titled "A Clash Of Kings" and so on.

No kidding..... I'm so impressed with this series. It's amazing how much of the books epic sweep they were able to capture on the show. :yes:

they should have never showed episode 7 last week...now some of us are itching for episode 8

i couldnt wait, so i started the book, im a little past where 7 left off now, i was going to skim till i found where 7 left off, im glad i didnt and started from the beginning. love the way this dude writes, cant put the shit down.

Looks like that event will happened next week.

I dont see how people dont like Tyrion,he knows his limits and find other way to get out of trouble...But I think that's gonna catch up to him though.

But something about Theon, I dont like though,even where Im at in the second book he's seems alittle too calm for his own good :smh::smh::smh::smh:

Like someone said I hope they make the name the second season "A Clash of Kings" that would be the more appropriate title.But I doubt they will change it because they dont want to confuse people that's new to the series.

George RR Martin wrote tonite's episode :yes:

Read the book series, although they made a decent rendition of the story, its still missing scenes.as well as added certain themes which was not part of the series.

It would've impressed me.more if they kept the original ages and not alter the character. Its an ailment of american society to alter art for the sake of the sensitive populace, although the kept the noir machievillian portions of the story (else no story) but it also shows the rashness, immaturity, naivity, and cruelty which comes with the strength of youth, but american adults need to be driven by celebrity and sex.

Ya as expected...reading the book has taken some of the luster out of watching the show...the show is still very well done...but the novel is just THAT much better...it's amazing how descriptive he is to the point where I am still forging my own image of the characters despite the influence of the tv show...also the part this ep w/ Drogo/Dany came off kinda awkward and forced on screen...having insight into Dany's thoughts in the book makes her transition from a scared lil girl to damn near a goddess smooth...in the show it comes off a lil too hurried...also there are exchanges that take place in the book that have been altered...going back to a few weeks ago when they had Littlefinger tell Sansa about the Hound's burns during the Hand's tourney...in the book the Hound tells Sansa herself which created a more powerful exchange in my head...also someone kinda "ruined" it for me by saying the actor who plays Drogo was the dude from Baywatch...dude is playing the hell out of this role but in spite of that...every time I see him on the screen now I keep hearing the theme from Baywatch :lol: Show is still damn good...I am just being overcritical...my ass will be watching the shit next week and the week after...I'm still waiting to see if the show will do "it"

Basically. I am still trying to find where the book said that knight of flowers is gay...

^^^ Yeah but the books are each like a 1000 pages+ ..... so it stands to reason that some details would be lost or rushed to ensure that pacing remains viable in 13 hour long segments.

I think the fact that they've managed to accomplish what they have given the depth and richness of the source material is pretty fucking phenomenal.

This might be the best book-to-film/tv adaptation I've ever seen.

That's really a lot of time since they are really 87 percent done now at episode 8, so 13 hours was a good amount of time, especially the removal of the gay Flowers which isn't there at all amongst other things.

But as you said, it is a good series regardless of their additions and tweaks...

The books really go fast, I picked them up by episode 4 and was done by ep 7.

That's what I was thinking. He told his mother that he had eighteen thousand, and the enemy scout said he had counted twenty, maybe more, so I figured that he let the scout go in hopes that Tywin would fall back and let him capture the bridge.

"call me boy again........ go on......"
:lol::lol:
:lol::lol:

i like jon snow over robb. is it just me or do anybody notice jon is the most mature one out off all the kids?

jon snow for kings.:lol::lol:

Jon_Snow.PNG

Tired of that lil bitch boy king flexing on that throne like he earned it. I was hoping that old knight he disrespected at the end was gonna scar his face or something.:hmm:

:lol::lol:

I don't know man.... maybe it could've been done better but I doubt it. Look at all the exposition they had to do just to get this series moving. The style of writing Martin used (multiple 1st person pov) must've been a real nightmare for the show's writers to rework into a coherent well paced 1 hour long narrative. But yeah either way we're agreed GOT kicks ass.

This whole episode was just OFF the CHAIN. I hope Rob turns into a good leader. People keep trying to PUNK HIM!

Snow is gonna come down off that wall and bring the WRECK! i just KNOW it. Lil mama is out in the world all on her lonesome.

And the Khal.....Drogo is quickly making my list of baddest man in this series. I love HIS LOOK. i love tude.

Tell me that's not gangsta

You're not going to find it. It was only hinted at ... indirectly. One example I remember was someone mentioning that girl was in no danger of losing her virginity around Renly.

BEGIN SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER highlight to see

Loras' (Knight of Flowers) over reaction to Renly's death was considered unusual for a normal lord vassal relationship

END SPOILER

Did Kahl Drago slice that fools throat and jerk his tongue out from the inside??? Dizzam.

martin helped... he wrote ep.8

Props on the links.

I feel you and I'm sure there will be more episodes (most likely 13) next season.

From what I've heard it does appear that its important for them to stick to the books.

However with what is supposed to happen this season with a certain character ( you know what I'm talking about) is too risky IMO for a television show, at least this early and in the first season. People get a lot more attached to characters on TV than they do in books. Removing important characters can ruin shows, I'm just woried about the response and consequences.

For example I remember with True Blood the Lafayette character was supposed to be killed/dead in the second season but they realized the risk was too high and deviated from the book in that instance. I'm wondering of GOT will do the same as it may be in their best interest.

It's going to happen to that certain character...they're building up to it.

drogo is my nigga for life after that episode....pulled out his side blades ....and dropped em like ole boy dropped the mic in coming to america

sidebar: All these book readin niggas ruined this thread. Can we get a thread for the niggas thats just watching the show only.

dropped all his weapons
talking shit
and ripped his throat out then sits down like its nothing

that's that shit that makes a chick want to have your baby on sight :lol:
