I'm not an attorney, so as a layman I use the words "code" and "laws" interchangeably. Whatever word you use, the State of NY has stipulated that you can’t accept donations for a political campaign and use them for whatever you want, regardless of whether or not your donors approve or object. That’s just how it is, no matter how he or anyone else believes it should be.
