i dig it fam...i tell my kids that black radio in philly (wdas) played hall & oates, elton john, the police. if it was hot to black folks, they played it. music is universal.

Indeed. Sound doesn't have a color (Unless you're doing LSD). Fun fact on The Staples Singers' "I'll take you there," the entire studio band is white.
RIP To Bobby Caldwell for keeping racist ears confused in the tradition of The 5th Dimension, Elton John, Hall & Oates, Mick Hucknall (Simply Red), and others for over 50 years.

RIP
the playlist runs DEEP!
1 (other) of my faves by him:

-parting words...

"...Take me back to then
When life was mellow
Where we had golden sun
Take me back, I said
I can't continue
With the world I'm in
Playing in the park
Every afternoon
I've grown old
Far too soon
Someone please tell me why
I can't be made to see
What good's left in my life
Is this the end of me
There's a tear
For all the dreams
That I left behind
They'll always be on my mind "

Remember when he won that BET award and had to give it back because he wasnt Black. Everyone thought he was a Black singing Wont Do For Love.

RIP I keep his song in rotation on my playlist.
