Yvette Wilson RIP (Andell from Moesha)

Saw the news this morning. Really puts things into perspective, Rest in peace, Yvette. Lost my aunt to stomach cancer at age 69 in January after a 1-year battle, and lost 3 coworkers to cancer in the past 6 years (at 2 organizations). Cancer is a mutha.

If a woman can get a pap, can't they use the same science to test semen?

As a survivor of cervical cancer, I never had HPV when I was diagnosed in 1999, so when ever I hear anyone assume that's the only way to get cervical cancer, that I want to fucking scream...all cervical cancer patients do not have HPV.

I wish I could tell you how I became a person that was chosen for this cancer, but I can't, but I can tell you my going to the doctor annually is what saved my life.

RIP

R.I.P.

Because of the pap test, no one in modern society should die from cervical cancer. This is a travesty. If a woman has been exposed to HPV, only a few strains actually cause cervical cancer. However, if a woman is getting paps every year, that detects the abnormal cells early and she gets it treated. I can't understand how it went to stage four. :(

I don't know why she had the kidney troubles though, maybe hypertension.

My heart breaks for her. :(Q

I didn't know...I have heard of endometrial cancer but I thought all cervical cancers came from the same 4 strains. Thanks for the wisdom!

I know i'm real late but, I was surfing the internet and I just came upon an old news report about her death...I enjoyed her in Moesha and when she appeared on Def Comedy Jam back in day...A Beautiful sista...R.I.P :(

Rest in peace. Far too young, and cancer is no joke.

Lost a kid in high school at age 16.

3 coworkers in the mid-2000s (lung / throat / cervical).

2 people we work with @ the job (lung / throat).

My aunt at the start of this year (stomach).

Aw man. My hearth goes out to you bro. Words cant describe the pain or condolence.

Thanks, Lexx. Cancer is a beast, man.

Discovered the body of one of our guys @ work in mid-January 2011. He had battled with lung cancer for 2 years. Older in age but went from 205lbs down to 115 - 120lbs and essentially skin and bones.

Aunt passed in late-January 2012 more locally. She had energy & iron deficiency issues for a few months ... prior to being diagnosed with a variety of issues in her small intestine. She lost her husband in his late-50s in 1997. Massive heart attack. Gotta be careful in my family as heart disease runs in the family (grandmother / uncle / great-grandfather). All experiencing heart issues in their 50s. She passed @ 69, and her husband at 57.
