This has always been a problem for us,an expensive car is a sign of doing well so some of us will bend,go broke,starve,beg and borrow to drive a certain car when we shouldn't.It's not only young folks that have this problem but older people have the same problem by labling themselves a certain type of car guy or gal,"I ride only Cadillacs,Lincolns,Chevys,Pontiacs,Benz" and it's all good if you can afford it but if you have to take out a loan to ride around in your city/town it makes no sense.
A car note is like going to the dentist and I don't want to see em only for my yearly checkup.
Then you have leasing and you have dudes babying them cars,can't drive here,don't park there,can't eat in the car,roll the windows up,"Is that my alarm?"....

Listen, the fastest way to get back on your feet is to miss three car payments.
Oh, it doesn't look like $50K when you signing up...it's what they gone pay in the end, though. Ain't no love in the automobile game...at all.
