Bassett Receives 3rd Yale Degree
On Monday (May 21, 2018), Angela Bassett strutted across Yale’s graduation stage to lock down her third degree from her alma mater. She was one of Yale’s 10 2018 honorary degree recipients and was presented with the Doctorate of Fine Arts degree at the ceremony.
In 1980, Angela earned a B.A. (Bachelor of Arts) degree in African American studies and by 1983, she earned her M.F.A. (Masters of Fine Arts) degree at Yale School of Drama.
Proud of the honor she received from this year’s graduation ceremony at her alma mater, the “Black Panther” star shared a video clip of it online, with a caption filled with gratitude…and a “Wakanda” shout out:
“Hey Everybody you good? My heart is full! God blessed me REAL good! Thank you @yale for this blessed honor! #mommawouldbesoproud #wakandaforeverthrougheducation #blessedandhighlyfavored”
“We are absolutely thrilled to honor the ten honorants,” Yale’s Vice President for Communications Eileen O’Connor said. “They are all deserving of the degrees and [were chosen] through a process of careful selection, and we’re really excited to have them here to celebrate the graduation of the class of 2018.”

We could not talk about Angela Bassett, without paying homage to her age defying physique and killa curves, which she recently flaunted on Instagram. Fresh off her “Black Panther” success, Bassett recently announced that she will be starring in the upcoming “Mission: Impossible FALLOUT” film, alongside another Hollywood legend, Tom Cruise. the film is hitting theaters on July 7, 2018.
