YES!! Grossman to get benched...

I had seen in the news that Rex may be benched and Griese will be his replacement. Just read it on chicagobears.com for confirmation. It's about time Lovie woke up and realized Rex is not the man for the job. He cost us the Super Bowl, and hasn't cracked anything over a 65% rating so far this season. With 8 interceptions and a boat load of mistakes in only 3 games so far, it would have been a long, LONG season for us Chicagoans. He's just to damn short to be a quarterback. Plus the fact he simply REFUSES to run the ball when the pocket breaks down. Not to mention when he "SEES" a defensive lineman/linebacker runnin after his ass and does nothing but fall down.

I'll give him his credit thoguh, he did do a decent job of gettin to the Super Bowl last year. But you'd think he would learn from his mistakes and try to change things up a little bit to make himself better. Hopefully gettin benched will be his wake up call. He also needs to rebuild his confidence. He has a tendancy to dwell on his mistakes, no matter how small they might be, and it's all downhill from there. He could be a damn good QB in the NFL.

Hate to be the barer of bad news, but there's a reasong Lovey didn't go to Griese sooner than now... Griese eats dick too. They shoul've tried to scoop up a QB a long time ago. Now they're stuck between playing either Curly or Larry. Bears ain't gonna do shit this year.

Griese wasn't all that bad. He can't be any worse than what Grossman has been doin for the last few games. The Bears actually did have a promising QB that the drafted, but cut him a couple weeks before the pre-season started. They had 4 QB's already so they felt they didn't need a 5th. I forget his name but he was from Florida. He had crazy numbers in college so I have no idea why they let him go.

That was Chris Leak that QB'd the national champs. Cuz it was florida, the stats were of course inflated, but he did decent in preseason.

I was just talking to my buddy about the bears QB situation, and I realized that in my 31 yrs on this planet, the chicago bears have NEVER had a solid QB. I think the best QB during my era was Erik Kramer. :puke:

I've had a few conversations along those sme lines over the years. One of the best QB's we've had that I can remember was Jim McMahon and then as you had said, Erik Kramer. And neither of em weren't exactly all that great either. But they did get the job done when it mattered.

The only thing that this team has in common with the 85 bears is the defense. We have an impeccable defense that makes HUGE plays. But the offense can't seem to get the ball moving. How long can the defense hold up when they have absolutely no motivation to go get the ball back. The offense isn't gonna score any damn way. Hopefull this QB move will set a fire in some asses that it's time for some production. You can't go from a Divisional Championship and Super Bowl appearance and then come back the following season to this shyt.

Cosign, If it makes you feel better Brees isnt doing any better..... I hope Grossman gets it together soon.......because they may have to release him.... When Grossman is on his game, he has all the ability in the world, and the potential....unfortunately it may be for another team

??? Chris never played a single minute in the preseason, WTF are yall talking about??? Leak was another weak armed Florida Qb that wouldnt have done shit because he couldnt "make all the throws"

You are so right men. I can't think of one really good young QB the bears have had. Kramer was old and washed up by the time he got here. Harbaugh didn't do shit until he went to Indy.

The Bears really need to look at a QB in the draft or Free Agency this year.

Professional career

Leak was not selected during the 2007 NFL Draft. The Chicago Bears signed him immediately after the draft.[2] He spent the summer of 2007 working with the team, and working with former Gator Rex Grossman.[3] However, Leak only saw playtime during the final game of the Preseason, where he completed eleven of sixteen passes for eighty-eight yards, an interception and touchdown.[4] He was eventfully cut on September 16 in favor of Kyle Orton. Leak is expected to try out for the AAFL spring league, where he would join a team based in Gainesville, Florida.[5]
