This seems like it is going to be a good movie. For everybody. For you homophobic folks, this is not a Madea Movie, so you don't have to worry about a man running around in a dress
This is a subject that should run deep for all of you brothers out there who do more than just pay child support, but are involved in the upbringing of your child whether or not you are with the child's mother.
But sometimes it isn't that easy. I had a friend whose baby's mother told the police that she caught him molesting his infant daughter. She lied and told the police she did, but they refuse to take that off of his record (he is fighting it in court) and now because of his status he cannot see his daughter. Baby momma did it because "She was mad because she thought that they would give him custody of their daughter because she didn't work and didn't even graduate from high school.
I got another friend whose baby momma up and left town when he was at work. Bruh had 2 jobs, including a part time job AND was going to college. She skated off to the west coast like the Baltimore Colts did when they went to Indianapolis. She told him if he followed her she was just going to move again.
Deadbeat daddies are a story that most of us are familiar, either we had them ourselves or we have seen it or heard about it. But no one talks about the guy that wants to be a father but can't. No one talks about the guy who wants to be more than just a check in the mail. A guy that wants to be involved in his childs life.
Daddy's Little Girls is a movie that we as Black people need to support because positive Black movies only get made every couple of years (Love Jones, Love & Basketball, The Wood, The Best Man, Brown Sugar, etc.). If we don't support them, Hollywood will stop making them and there will be no positive movies for our kids to see showing us doing more than just gangbanging and selling drugs.
Support this movie. It opens today, Valentine's Day. I'm taking my wife. You take your wife, your girl, your kids.
