fuck that - Shadows was awesome -almost as good as Ghost of Tsushima - first real AC since Syndicate - first good AC since Unity (post hundreds of patches )

I'm a huge AC fan and sucker for these games, I just didn't enjoy it, the story was weak to me, the world feels dead and empty, it's pretty but sterile. Comparing it to ghost is exactly why it's even more glaring how dead the world and soulless The game is, and now with yotei out it looks even weaker. The free running took a massive step back from mirage as well which I'm not a fan of. I probably would have enjoyed it more if it just concentrated on one or the other protagonist, is it stands it feels like two half baked ideas.

I'm glad you enjoyed it though! It just didn't click with me.
