They just better pray that the next BF game is a smash hit..
I don't think this will be a big issue this time. If someone has a 3080 or better, they can play pretty much any title maxed out right now.
2 years ago, the 2080ti wasn't strong enough to get 60 fps in new or upcoming titles like MSFS, Cyberpunk 2077, AC Valhalla, etc.
Also, I don't agree that Nvidia doesn't care who buys these cards. If gamers get these cards, that'll result in a huge amount of high end cards on ebay. Which will drive down the prices and help them sell (get rid of them). The retailers may not like that, but they know folks are not willing to pay msrp for two year old cards.
