Y'know Microsoft extended the waranty.... you might wanna check into that.

It said 50,000 blocks. Remember? The specs were 8GB. I suspect it was more though because I had a shit load of music on it and still had 50,000+ block left. I stopped worrying about it and just ripped more music. But I said I would use this one the same way. ike I said, for those that wanted, now they have another option.trekei said:I dont know which xbox you bought but mine had 50 gb .
You have to keep them there to play them right? Right.freaky_1 said:You don't have to keep them there you know? I download them all the time, but I delete them when I'm done with them. I don't rip music either but on the original XBOX the HDD was only 8GB and I had tons of music on it. Besides that, you can stream music and movies from you computer, that's why the bigger HDD wasn't necessary. But those that begged for it, got it so they should be happy.
Yeah I delete most demos right away since they are so crippled or if I dont like them. I still only have like 7gb free and only have 4 or 5 demos.trekei said:I downloaded a bunch , I do wonder how come it doesnt hit max, but also i dont keep old ones that long.
Jaguar2G said:Yall missing the point.....this was made for the "ELITE" gamers out there.
Its like buying a Benz......U get that Benz cred......But then u got that AMG version out there too lol
They trying to give u 3 flavors, 3 price points, 3 looks to choose from. All games will work with all 3 systems.
If your TV does not have 1080p res then this Elite system is not for you. All you gotta do is get a core system 299.99 and buy the new 120 hard drive for 179.99 and use them same Component Cables and be just as happy as u would be with the HDMI cable in the Elite system. And buy some black spray paint.
Remember this was made for the Elite gamers......by Christmas time this will be probably replace the current 399.99 system. But the Core system aint goin no where.
im bout to check out Costco for future purchasescold-n-cocky said:Nah, I probably won't, but if I do decide to get the Elite, here's what I'll do:
Take 360 back to Costco (where I bought it at)
Say it's not loading up games (shit already happened once)
Costco gives me a gift card for the price of the 360 bundle I originally bought (to replace the 360)
I use that the cop the Elite, pay whatever difference it is (30-40 bucks tops)
But like others have said, it's really not that serious to get right now.
Marculo said:The Elite is a Benz with the same engine as the Toyota Camry that MS sells for $399. The extra bucks are for the bigger trunk space. But if I already have a Camry that fake ass Benz is no good to me.
And besides, upscaling games to 1080p isn't the same as a game that's made to play at 1080p. That's like cats looking for hi def cables for a Wii, it ain't worth the few extra bucks when what you're getting isn't enough of an increase in quality.
Let me see some real 1080p games on the 360 (which is damn near nonexistent right now) then I'll be able to say buying the same system over again is justified. Right now, there's no reason.
QwietStorm said:Waste of good money. They should've just put all that shit in the first version instead of lying and saying it wasn't necessary. Now all the sheep are gonna NEED this version and Microsoft is gonna use them to trick the total sales figures just like Nintendo with the DS Lite. 120GB HDD for $180 = anal rape.
Where is the sony bashing in this thread? Why are you here then? Just have to say 360 now and you appear?Varis said:hey dont be mad at me. I kinda thought this new 360 elite would be more reliable than the other 360's. I really thought MS fixed all the problems and added the larger hard drive and added the HDMI port. It turns out ALL they did was put in a larger drive and HDMI, it still has the same defects as the regular 360. I'm just trying to give yall a heads up before you plunk down nearly 500 or trade in your old one. You would feel really bad if you traded in a working 360 for a defective elite.

regarding the transfer. its a one time transfer. once you transfer from the 20 to the 120 it deletes the data from the 20. cant go backwards either. also if the xbox craps out during the transfer data will be lost on both drives.TheProfessional said:The only thing worth it is the 120gig HD they should have had available when it launched the first time. Secondly and most important is the migration CD-tool included with the hd that will allow you to transfer your shit from the 20 to the 120. That better work flawlessly!
i'll have to look it up but all reports i have read state that they are not out yet.Gemini said:Some of the 360's already have the new DVD drives(BenQ) in them.
