WWF legend "Mean Gene" Okerlund passes away at 76

Gene knew how to orchestrate an interview so the wrestlers could better emphasize the point they needed to get across. He was a master at what he did.
So many of my favorite interviews feature him doing this. Between Bobby the Brain, Gene, Gorilla, Finkle, and Vince's over the topness, these voices made WWF fun to listen when the wrestlers handle business in the ring. Something still lost with today's product.

Folks born before 1960 aged quicker man.

John Amos, Sherman Helmsley and Reginald VelJohnson were all 35 when they played James Evans, George Jefferson and filmed Die Hard respectively.
I don't know about Reginald and Sherman but they put grey color in John Amos' hair for Good Times to make him look older. They did the same with Redd Foxx too. He was only 50 when Sanford and Son started. That old man walk he did was put on too. Redd walked perfectly normally and was fairly light on his feet away from the show.

Them hairlines though.

Them middle aged hairlines.

Mean Gene was off da hook! LOL........
WWF wouldn't have not been the same without him. Him and crazy azz Bobby "The Brain" Heenan.

Damn, I remember him and that voice from the ALL STAR WRESTLING days. I thought he was 76 back in the mid 70s.. RIP

This thing called life, the older you get the faster it goes!! Enjoy your family, enjoy your friends and most important just enjoy YOUR life!!

Wwf was a highlight to my Saturday mornings as a kid. His interview with hulk hogan, the hart foundation, the undertaker classic shit
