"WW C"- COVID-19, GLOBAL CASES SURPASS 676 MILLION...Here we go again 2025 are we ready for Trump to fuck this up again?

People please be careful with this new variant it’s not As a mild as some people would think

I heard a scientist say this. Folks are saying it's milder than Delta, which could be true. But if it's four times milder than Delta that means it's still as strong as the original Wuhan strain....

As a parent, I am so fucking happy this disease hasn't really fucked with kids like that. It's hard to say 'only' when it comes to kids, but 'only' 700 or so dead children with well over 5 million tested positives(and who knows how many others had it) out of 800,000 bodies. And that's from 0 to 18 years of age. We all know teens were out there.

And that number is with a childhood weight problem in this country This disease is a monster, but damn I'm glad it has not been taking out kids like that. It's just fucked up that some parents didn't take precautions and ended up making their kids orphans.
It will soon. With the push to vaccinate 5-11 year olds, I predict a spike in deaths in that demographic in 2022 but it won’t be “attributed to COVID”.

Only a small percentage of vaccinated people have had breakthrough cases. It appears to be a lot based on looking at the news and blogs. But when you look at the total number of people that are vaccinated who have not contracted Covid, that number is large
Every single person I know testing positive for COVID now is vaccinated. The media isn’t the only person privy to data and contact tracing.

NYC Scales Back Times Square New Year's Eve, New York Infections Up 35% in a Day
The development comes amid an unprecedented COVID-19 case surge sweeping the nation that has seen NYC spread rates soar to record levels

What to Know
  • New Year's Eve in Times Square won't be the same triumphant emblem of pandemic recovery the mayor hoped it would when he announced weeks ago a fully vaccinated, "full strength" return in person
  • Skyrocketing increases -- unprecedented, day after day -- in COVID cases fueled by the omicron variant, many of them breakthrough infections, have forced some changes to the plan. More may change
  • As it stands, the city will still allow fully vaccinated people to attend but the audience will be almost four times smaller than it usually is. Masks will be required for all; proof of vaccination and photo ID are required
New York City has modified its plans for its fully vaccinated New Year's Eve celebration in Times Square, limiting the crowd to roughly 15,000 people, nearly four times less than the non-pandemic crowd, and requiring masks for all amid an omicron surge that's spawning unprecedented increases in COVID infections.

As eye-popping as the numbers have been in recent days, Thursday afternoon's report from the state was still stunning -- 38,835 positive tests in just one day, an increase of 10,000 from the day before. Of those, 22,208 were in New York City alone, orders of magnitude greater than anything either the city or state faced before omicron (although a true comparison to the number of cases during the initial COVID surge in spring 2020 is impossible because tests were very limited at the time).

In simpler terms — in just the last week, roughly 1% of all New York City residents, and 1% of all New York state residents, have tested positive for COVID. Fortunately because of vaccinations, hospitalizations and deaths from the current surge are far fewer than at the pandemic’s height.

Against that backdrop, Mayor Bill de Blasio was under heavy pressure to do something about the city's New Year's Eve plans. The mayor said Thursday that viewing areas will be filled with fewer people to allow for social distancing

Visitors will not be permitted entry until 3 p.m. on New Year's Eve, which is much later than prior years. Proof of full vaccination -- meaning the last dose of the regimen was at least 14 days before New Year's Eve -- with valid photo identification will remain required as the mayor had previously announced.

Attendees aged 5 and up must also present proof of COVID-19 vaccination to enter the event. Minors not yet eligible for vaccination can still attend the Times Square bash but must be accompanied by a vaccinated adult.

Anyone who can't get vaccinated because of a disability must provide proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of the event as well. See more FAQs here.

I’m COVID free because I don’t run with anyone with those labels. Datasets I mine have all demographics. I’ll give you credit however, because I had no clue that the word “run” was in your lexicon. :eek2:

You're COVID free cause you stay in a unibomber shack like Ted Kaczynski

I don't disagree up to point. The general idea was that they thought that saying vaccinated people didn't need to wear masks would encourage people to get vaccinated so they could start to ease up on their personal restrictions. But all it did was give the unvaccinated cover to go maskless in public (because no one was requiring proof of vaccination to go maskless in businesses, etc.)

The mistake was assuming that common sense would prevail in people that have definitely not shown a proclivity for it.

I haven't seen a lot of people claiming immunity because of vaccination. Honestly, the only people I've seen that mention it as an issue seem to want to tout a lack of immunity as a reason not to get a shot(s). The only people I've seen claim immunity are the people who actually got sick, and that's been proven to be inaccurate, too.

bout to take a test… was working building a fence then bammmmm

body started aching, the chills

I pretty much slept the chills off…

aching is just lower back now…
was neck, shoulders, hips, back and knees

So I’m about to take a test when Ms. Mask gets back

If you test positive, ask them to give you the infusion therapy.
