That young black man in the picture had to be some type of snitching, sellout, coon that loves white people more than his own race.

Because when I look at that photo I see no stress nor sadness or regret on his face.

On a similar note, there were black men working in the field next to the barn where Emmitt Till was being tortured. Imagine what was going through their minds while hearing those blood curdling screams.
Imagine black people during those times had to put up with all sorts of injustice staying quiet or else face similar consequences. No law enforcement would protect them from harassment or an angry lynch mob. That's a horrible way to live. Not being able to speak out of act to what's right.

He may have been all those things but his decisions could only be understood within the context of the time they lived in. There were blacks that did a lot of distasteful things, snitch to other whites on rebellions uprising and even lying on other blacks to save their own skin, light skin slaves passing for white after slavery to have a better life. Black peoples mindstate was conditions for survival with the limited life choices they had all they could do was survive to get us here. That's the kind of fear and power whites invoked. As much as I hated Stephen in Django Unchained he was a victim too.

Something about the movie 12 Years a Slave really made thinking about how bad blacks were treated hurt even more. I used to read books on slavery like Bullwhip Days, The Slave Narratives and others and also watched movies about slavery and it made me mad/sad but 12 Years a Slave while not as graphic as others was hard for me to watch again. I really think it was just the noises Solomon and Patsey were making while getting whipped that seemed so real.

The thing about is the word "rape" was never used in that article, they said "assaulted" her. He may have done something like unknowingly bumped into the lil girl and didn't apologize sufficiently enough for the father. Also whites were very jealous of blacks they felt were doing good, so the father may have made up the whole story out of jealousy. I found it interesting that he didn't want a black man that had "assaulted" his 11 yr old daughter to be filled with bullet holes or burned
