^^^guess there was nothing more important going on. What story could they possibly have? Probably just the same shit as in here, a bunch of speculation.

Why be upset with them instead of the fools following their every move? They aren't poisoning my mind, body, or soul...they make music and I don't care about them outside of their songs.

D... could you elaborate on this a bit? Serious question... I'm curious as to why you think they are poison. Hearing people say that they hate either or both of them isn't new, but the reason is usually something like "I dunno, I just do" or they start spouting speculation/rumors.

And which black couple(s) is good for the black community in your opinion?

that depends its one thing when it happens in private. but this was for the world to see.

Naw the Standard/Le Bain hotel about to pay out the ass for that going viral, if you been in them elevators you would know people go there to engage in all types of parties and wild shit. Ain't none of that found it's way on the internet till this...some heads will roll.

Yep. They already started back peddling with their statement yesterday. Somebody on their security staff leaked it, and that person got pizzaid!

True but you can't blame them, we choose to pick such poisons to idolize, in fact our list of poisons is long indeed. :smh::smh::smh:

To me these are much more interesting topics than the fight in the elevator. I feel the way both of you feel at various times. Part of me feels that black celebrities should be more conscious as to the negative effect that they have on our community. Another part of me feels that we as a community should be smarter about the decisions we make and what/who we allow influence us.

I'm from the ghetto but I made it out and live a fairly comfortable life now. However, I clearly see that 'we' have huge hurdles to overcome every time I go back to my old neighborhood and hang out with the friends I had when I was in high school.

I dont care for them as well, my issue with Jay Z is how he handled the Barney incident

I also think 800.00 for concert tickets is some bullshit

Beyonce is overrated as hell, lets be serious here. Fair voice, pretty face and good showmanship, but shea not all that people proclaim to be.

Jay Z is a sellout to his own people

Beyonce seems empty headed...she cant even speak properly or say anything intelligent.

I dont like Wendy Williams, But she was right on the mark with that one

I know I sound like I'm on Patrice O'Neal' s jock by quoting him all the time, but he said something that works in this scenario. We all know Hitler is a bad guy, but do you place all the blame of the holocaust on him, or the thousands of Germans that signed up to kill Jewish people? Beyonce is as much of a character as Spongebob...if a person chooses to spend their mortgage payment on a designer handbag that Beyonce is toting around, how is it Beyonce's fault when you lose your home? What happened to accountability, responsibility, and owning up to your own horseshit? People are blaming everyone but themselves.

I hear you and I often share your sentiments. However, I understand that there is a much larger issues at hand. I'm not condemning Jay, Bey, or any of our celebrities for their success. I just feel that success for us often comes with a huge level of responsibility that I don't think we always consider.

To quote Ice-T from New Jack City, "You owe Pookie! You owe."

It is ignored wholesale and the "hive-mind Lemming I want what they tell me to want" is promoted and forced feed us and out children relentlessly. Like I said, our poisons are legion to the point where we don't consider them poisons at all.

Beyonce is not idolized for her voice and she can clearly sing, the BLOND lace weaves are salivated probably more than her voice is by black women and, naaaw, I'll say without QUESTION it is.

Jay Z is just a living commercial reel basically in his rhymes, the naming of products that are imprinted in our minds to want to have so that we too can look down on the next person of color as they do us and feel superior to.

The poisons are endless, the absence of any fucking stance on anything affecting the world is another, as you said, ducking responsibility to stand for SOMETHING. AS someone else pointed out these "interest groups/corporations and government" all have an agenda they are carrying out. We have no such agenda, it is whatever is whatever or what we are bombarded with to think we must have.

Don't get me wrong, I ain't mad at either of them, they doing what they doing to get theirs and MAINTAIN that "position" if that means turning a blind eye to anything that will make them not "marketable". They have essentially become "Product".

This is the poison that affects most of us, doing us and fuck everyone else and it is the biggest myth in America to me that black folks have swallowed. Cause no other people are doing that in this country, they are always either openly or covertly trying to make sure their people have advantage whenever possible.

How about this, folks look at Mexicans and say probably "We have it better than they do."

I say bullshit, they are wholesale grabbing up every type of labor there is that is manual, chefs, landscaping, construction, home repair, building homes, selling ices, selling corn on street, you name it. And they are KEEPING it amongst themselves and feeding their families and not remotely concerned about NOTHING the media trying to bombard them with in terms of "Marketing".

My two cents

It's more convenient to blame others, rather than to look at one's self, and see the real problem.
