Yesterday I was walking down DeKalb with my 54 year old auntie and we stopped to light cigarettes. It was school just let out time. A group of kids who couldn't have been more than 9, 10 years old at the most pass us and one of the girls comes right up in our faces with a screw face on and starts coughing and says in the RUDEST damn voice "I REALLY HATE SMOKING *COUGH COUGH COUGH*" My auntie says "well thats just too bad isn't it". Now this lil punk starts SCREAMING "I WILL KILL YOU FUCKING BITCHES" and a bunch of unintelligible stuff. I told her "bring it". My auntie and I were stunned and shocked in total disbelief :eek: :smh:

Then we were talking about when we were that age we NEVER would have even dreamed of coming at adults like that. Does anyone teach their kids any decency anymore? WTF?

1. I do exactly what those kids did all the time. But only if I can't escape the cig smoke. I don't think we should have to be exposed to that in the street. So if I can't escape it I'll do the loud cough and usually ppl will apologize or redirect the smoke. You have to understand that smoking is a personal choice so if a person has made the choice to not do that to themselves it shouldn't be forced down their throats.

2. Them kids done lost their damn minds. I see that shit in the city all the time. But you guys need to be careful. These kids don't fight anymore. They are shooting and stabbing. And they don't let things go, they follow you and keep it going. I know you don't wanna be look at as a punk but CHILDREN ARE CRAZY. Just give em a dirty look and keep it moving cuz it may never stop.

I personally hate smoking. For all the love my parents gave me as a child they never seemed to understand how much it hurt me, even after getting burned. So I gotta go with HA on that one when I'm in public and it bothers me. Smoking is just something that I cannot tolerate.

However, what you said to the kid I wouldn't have said. Don't provoke the little miscreants. Yeah they were rude to begin with but teach em a lesson.



As for your original question: no one strips the extension cord anymore.

2) Sadly, in these fucked up times we live in an adult cannot discipline a child or "whoop they ass" even if said adult is the child's parent. I wasn't trying to end up in jail yesterday. :smh:

The above quote was made by Socrates in 420 B.C. It just goes to show you that older generations generally misunderstand and find the behaviors and actions of a younger generation appalling. Maybe it feels like the "ante has been upped," because children are more prone to seeing and experiencing certain things than we were younger. BUT, that statement can be said by all generations following the preceding generation.

The older generation will always find something wrong with the younger one. There are just differences that we won't see and vice versa, so it has been for generations and will be. But something that SHOULD be universal between the generations is respect. You might now like technology, and this one might not like rap (I know I'm guilty of that one), but you need to have respect. Kids these days got momma and grandma shaking they ass on the internet- not discreetly I mean- and exposing them to things they shouldn't see before their years and this leads to a lack of respect. You can not like, but you have to respectful in you're not liking.
