WTF happened to good R&B artists? They must have said fuck making CDs because of bootleggers!

This woman is good looking, sexy sweet voice all CHECK..but here's where she looses/fails..check these lyrics..I have kids..so where or When can I rock this joint:confused: when I'm home alone? or in my car without my kids? WHEN? and I grew up in a time when women didn't convey on public record their fuck game etc..to ME those are not "lady like" qualities. Are you gonna bring this chic home to me mom or autie after they just heard her somewhere talkin bout how good her fuck game is :hmm: IMO good R&B doesn't need/shouldn't have/contain profanity...sorry youngins but that's how i feel about the matter:smh:

Now sure I can appreciate a chic talking like that with me in private or even on the phone..but then again for us to even be having that kind of conversation I would have had to already fucked up some kind of way where as I was busted fucking another woman or at least was under suspicion of banging another chic..which for ME would never be the case because if I had a chic like this woman "claims to be all that" I'd never have a reason or need to step outside of that relationship..so I'd have to pass on this type of music...for ME that is.. But now if I was still out here playing the game...single no kids etc then maybe I could get with this cuz IMO the music/beat of this track i'm feelin it

They may as well take a page from the Frankie Beverly play book and just tour on the old songs that made them famous in the first place.

Thats what most of em do. Well, the ones who are business savvy.

Whereas the OP is tryna put the blame on bootlegggers, truth is that style of 90s R&B just aint popular. Just like 90s style rap aint as popular. The only time old school style music is popular in the 2000s is when its sampled by some new wack artist and then introduced like its brand new material.

A lot of todays POPULAR singers (most of which cant even sing, e.g. Trey Songz) cant hold their own unless theyre featuring some rapper on the song with them. Thats the age we live in.

Chick in my rotation.

That entire Milky Way label is nice... but Yeah Peyton has mad potential. Sadly I dont see her blowing up until Milky Way gets better distributors and some one to work on their Coverart. The cover art for their albums is Turrrible.

OMG!!

fonzerrillii, did you leave her out of this thread??

This whole CD is PURE FIRE!!!

This shit sounds GOOD in the truck!!! :ipod:

Yeah I'm kind of shocked that I did...

But I tried to avoid putting alot of my Blue Eyed soul favorites in this thread, because I didn't want it to devolve to a bunch of Culture Vulture shit.

The main board still isn't all the way ready.

That so-called "Blue eyed soul" movement is the reason so much mainstream R&B sucks right now. With Amy Winehouse's success the record companies realized that if they teamed the best Black songwriters, producers and musicians with their white artists they could keep all their money "within the family". Meanwhile popular Black artists got the shaft for promotion and background talent.

If you're a Black R&B artist, how do you stay relevant without any resources? First thing you do is replace deep thoughtful lyrics with a catchy hook. You replace expensive studio musicians with hip hop beats. You do guest spots with artists that are already famous. You show off your body, make graphic sex anthems and resort to attention seeking behavior because it's basically free publicity. That's the reason today's stars look less like Joe and more like Chris Brown. It's all about industry survival.

Since It has been requested... I'm not opening up the flood gates on Good Music from unknown Kats. I shall not focus on the race. Let's keep this party going. Again... these are all people that have been or will be posted in my thread. Some are kats that are in my 100 artist backlog. Anyway... ENJOY..

CharlieRed is one of my old school discoveries from 2013. I only posted their album on my thread though. So most of the board missed this fire.

Most who truly no me... know that I'm a mega Secret Rendezvous fan and have been heavily hyping them for 5 years now.

They got a new album coming out in September 22. They gave be access to a private soundcloud link and I can confirm that the shit is Fire. Here is some of their classic fire to get the board ready.

Now for 4 groups that only fans of the music thread would know about but each of these groups dropped must own albums.

First the legendary Beaten Bodies...

The Legendary and sadly Broken up.. DollaLuva

Oh and this band and Secret Rendezvous are from the Netherlands.
