Brah, I knew this was commonplace, especially amoung the rich and elite. But what perplexes me the most is that society chose to listen to such a man who apparently was the product of a disfunctional family and in turn produced disfunctional offspring. There are entire institutions dedicated to what this man researched and promoted. That's what really bothers me because in today's times nothing this monster would say or write would be open for debate. Even more bothersome is the fact that they told him to be quiet about inbreeding and used Darwinism very concept to promote racism which is still alive and well today.
I am stepping up my game by admitting that I don't know it all and hopefully by posting this someone else may have learned something. So before you post some smart azz shit back at me FUCK YOU AND STEP UP YO GAME PLAYA!
for that time period yes it was normal, obviously our culture looks at things different now but its not so in other parts of the world

Let's keep it 100, back in the day...people couldn't travel that far, most folks stayed close to their community so the ability to marry someone different than you lessened. So folks did marry cousins, 'cause that's who were around them, however when planes, trains, & automobiles arrived....these familial marriages, no matter how distant, were frowned upon.
So what was Darwins problem? I know the locomotive wasn't invented until the 1900 and since they where in the 1800 that may very well be true but I think tranportation was prolific enough to not have to fuck your own relatives, just saying?

Inbreeding was common practice for royal & well-to-do for centuries, dating ALL THE WAY back to the Egyptians, the fact that he was even questioning a long established practice takes away your "nut" theory, in context it is ALWAYS hard to buck establishment, ESPECIALLY when it's people in charge that you're discrediting.
Hell, some of Darwin's theories on genetics @ the time were 100% wrong, but just because you're wrong in one area DOESN'T make you wrong across the board, Einstein & Edison were wrong @ on several of their theories as well!!!
