Crazy, huh? The limit forces you to be creative, but man, I could have easily used about 7500 - 10000 words. These are gonna be good.

I got everyone's stories except for owl and Sampson...........will get Sampson's before the deadline so that will leave owl...........Havent heard from him since the contest began...
As soon as Im done with mine I will sent it too mealstrom so it can be on his website.....I will check to see if he wrote me back and hopefully the votin can start tomorrow when I wake up...

I also had an idea that might help with future contest players. For my contests I'm going to institute the rule that if you didn't critique any stories in whatever the last contest was then you don't get to play in my next one. I think that'll encourage guys who want to play to critique contests entries in other contests.
So if you want to take part in my next contest (I have some great ideas!) then you have to critique stories in this one. Maybe not all, but at least a few. The more the better.
I also had an idea that might help with future contest players. I accept that challenge! Even if I don't host the next one I'll try to take part in it. I have no doubt you'll give me a serious run for my money on the next one if not kick my ass completely.With what I was thinking it wouldn't matter if anyone actually does well or not in the contest. As long as you critique a few stories you're eligible for my contests. I think it'll encourage more people to post critiques. The last contest I hosted didn't get a lot of critiques, but got a lot of interest. I'm hoping this'll encourage more participation.

I REALLY wanted to be in this one. Assassin came up with a fucking awesome idea and I'm really excited to read the stories. This is by far one of my favorite genres. If I wasn't so swamped with work and school I'd be thrilled to be in it.
If no one comes up with any contests after this one I have a great idea for a Halloween one. And if someone does I thought of a really cool idea for a later one.

All good though, man. Being so short, we're just forced to find ways of creatively presenting our narratives while adhering to the size constraints. It's as much a personal test as a public contest.
I had to dump a good chunk of my stuff too, but that's the catch, right? Besides, when presenting alongside other authors, you can't help but feel self conscious. I know mine is kinda out there, but it's all in good fun.
And, on a side note, thanks for managing the uploads!

Don't be so hard on yourself. We are our own toughest critics sometimes and most times we go overboard. How many times in school did you say, "Man, I failed that test. I'm gonna fail the 11th grade. This is fucked up. I ain't going to college. I'm gonna be a bum living in my momma's attic."
And then you found out you got a B+
Relax, let us judge. If you went awry then we will point it out and get you on the right track. If your worrying was totally misplaced then we will tell you to "Chillax" and keep doing what you are doing. Anyway, did you save what you did before you did the editing that forced you to take out 70% of your material? If so after the contest voting closes, post the unedited version for us to view.
make sure u upload it to rapidshare or megaupload....so I can give it too Mealstrom to put on the site like last time
