Sigh.
Could easily do that and probably better than him

Why the f*ck you think I posted this for you. There are so many "jobs" the average person cannot even imagine existing.

And this one is tailor made for you.

But the question is..

Could you live your whole life with the public never knowing or acknowledging your work?

And seeing others overwhelming white men taking all the credit benefits and accolades?

It's been mentioned elsewhere, but Carrie Fisher was a very successful script doctor.

Unless you're a multi-hyphenate like Spike Lee, Issa Rae, Ryan Coogler, Jordan Peele, or even Tyler Perry, most screenwriters live their whole lives with the public never knowing or acknowledging their work. If a writer wants a shot at fame and more creative control, they're better off writing a book or picking up a camera.

And seeing others overwhelming white men taking all the credit benefits and accolades?

And getting the blame when things go wrong because of their meddling. Business as usual in Hollywood.

I bet you could. Black people don't lack the skills, they lack the opportunity. I've seen way too many movies with white writers that had corny, and unbelievable bullshit lines.

The recent ludicrous Christmas movie dashing through the snow Wasn't bad, but Scott Rosenberg Was the writer and At points the writing was just fucking corny as shit. Just lame and unrealistic.

Black writers have the talent but I wish more got the opportunity, especially in movies where black people are delivering the poorly written dialogue that Black people listen to and IMMEDIATELY side eye.

Lines like, "You're the man now, dog" are an example of just poor writing IMO. Sean Connery delivered it perfectly as an older and Out of Touch white guy talking to a young black dude, but I'm sure a better writer could have said something more fitting and less corny

"Now THAT'S What I'm talking about" (3 claps)

And this fits better than the original line: "You're the man now, dog"

But honestly

I don't think that line would be as memorable if it WAS written better.

But it's memorable for being bad and awkward. I don't know if I want to be memorable for being bad and awkward. That's like being memorable for being Craig Ehlo versus Jordan.

The movie is memorable because of scenes like this...immensely powerful. And this was Rob Brown's first role. That presence. That look back glace and then ignoring Anna Paquin.

I know this movie is the black Good Will hunting, ironically about the same director, but it's still phenomenal. And seems like this is why it's remembered

Bro I disagree, so many lines that are "bad" become endearing over time or in real time just... because

Delivery, timing, editing.

The line works cause it just does the chemistry of that is insane.

Because trust me I've seen writers literally agonizing over that PERFECT line and 9/10? It's the basic one the one no one noticed but the audience just gravitated toward it.

At the time it was used in commercials and was mimicked every where

Bad or good it just was and became timeless.

It isn't something I believe is held as some type of symbol of bad writing.

It's become a famous silly line regardless and I would have killed to have been responsible for it.

So bad that it's good must fall into the mind of movies like Sharknado. I get it now
