Beyond.the.Mat - DVDRip -

This movie takes an inside look at the world of pro wrestling. You see the stars of today's wrestling world as you have never seen them before, the personal side. Featured in the flim is best selling author and hardcore icon Mankind (or Mick Foley). In one scene you see Mick's wife break down into tears, as she shields the couple's children as Mick gets cracked in the head a whopping 10 times in the head with a steel chair. Also doucumented in the film is Jake "The Snake" Roberts and his battle with personal demons. Hardcore legeng Terry Funk is also showcased. This is not just a movie for wrestling fans as it is a story of human emotions and interest and not a vehicle to promote the sports entertainment industry.

Mark William Calaway (born March 24, 1965) is an American professional wrestler, better known by his ring name The Undertaker. He is signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), wrestling on its SmackDown! brand.

As of 2007, Calaway is one of the senior performers in WWE, having joined in 1990. He is one of only two wrestlers to have appeared on the very first episode of RAW who are still with the company today. The other is Shawn Michaels 4freesofts.com.

Calaway began his wrestling career with World Class Championship Wrestling in 1984. He joined World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1989. When WCW did not renew Calaway's contract at the end of 1990, he joined the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) in November of that year.

"Know Your Role," The Rock's first personality tape, covers possibly the height of his creative brilliance. I have a couple of friends who believe that The Rock's character, combined with his exemplary working skills, was best utilized as a heel. This video might be the proof.
The Rock's first three WWF championship runs are covered in detail on this personality tape - the first of which being one of the greatest angles in the history of the WWF, his defection to the Corporation. His I-Quit match with Mankind (of which Mick Foley is still angry about), perhaps the most brutal match in WWF history, is also highlighted.
And throughout it all, of course, is The Rock. His humor provides an excellent narration to this personality tape, which is well worth a purchase for either the casual wrestling fan who only catches a couple of shows a year, or for the hardcore storyline fan who appreciates a story told.

Absolutely, brother. I like the way they didn't OVERSELL the small show atmosphere as well. My dad watched the film with me and was smiling during the wrestling sequences in that he took my brother and I to a small show locally in 2002 and we had a blast. "This reminds me so much of that night years back, man. Look at that! Ohhhhh - owww!" I gave him little bits of info along the way - explaining what some of the moves were - differentiating between "faces" and "heels", etc. Sirwoodz - you're absolutely right about the parts in the locker room and such where he's talking with the guys - it's really got a NATURAL feel to it. Especially the sequence where he's paying the guy a portion of the money he'll owe him on that large amount of pills/tabs and such. When he asks the guy to flex for him afterward - and notes - "Look at that muthafucka!" - that's all the way natural-sounding, for real. Very lockerroom talk. And the way Aronofsky and crew followed him with the camera from the BACK in many a shot - great visual. I loved the beginning of the movie with Ram walking back through the venue, signing the autographs, driving, and then arriving home and getting upset with the on-site grounds manager.
