Wrasslin Heads: WWE cracking down on LIVE streams

-- World Wrestling Entertainment is well aware of websites such as Justin.TV streaming pay-per-view broadcasts for free in real time and have been much more adamant in recent months in shutting down the feeds.

During any one pay-per-view event, a multitude of live streams can be found on Justin.TV, some of which attracting upwards of 500,000 visitors. In response, WWE now has their legal team scouring the website during live shows for feeds in hopes of squashing as many as they can.

According to one source, they are taking the same approach to these sites that feature WWE copyrighted material being posted on YouTube.

Anytime a company says "we're blocking" or "shutting down" something, people find ways to get around it and the movement gets stronger. If Justin.tv and ustream.tv get shut down, another site will take it's place.

Co-sign. Even during the big boom in the 90's I would get the ppv shows for free on television and that is when the product was exciting and unpredictable.

It won't make them more money(seen they made big bucks in 2007 on ppv anyways) as those watching weren't going to pay anyways. It's not like they have a superstar on the roster nowadays like a Rock or Steve Austin or Hulk Hogan which draws people in by the millions and millions.

Justin Tv and Ustream aren't the only websites available, there are others. I've noticed in the past few months some of the PPV's got knocked out a few minutes into the show so it's definitely apparent they are trying to shut it down. They don't succeed fully thou as it's only a matter of time before finding a link that works. (5-10 minutes tops)

Secondly, yeah why not download it off torrents. I don't have HD at home but being able to download WM25 earlier this year in HD was pretty nice.
