WR Vincent Jackson to the Seattle Seahawks?

The San Diego Charges gave the Seattle Seahawks permission to enter into preliminary contract talks with Vincent Jackson. The Chargers gave Vincent Jackson until Friday to sign their tender offer, or else they would place Vincent Jackson on the Roster Exempt list. Seattle and Vincent Jackson are at a deadlock: Jackson wants a 5 year 50 million contract with 30 million guaranteed.

Jackson reportedly wants a contract that will pay him more than the four-year deal with $24 million guaranteed that Marshall got from the Miami Dolphins in March.

Jackson certainly looks the part. At 6-foot-5, 230 pounds the 27-year-old would be the down-the-field threat Seattle is looking for. Jackson has topped 1,000 yards receiving the last, two season and scored 16 touchdowns over that period.

Jackson also has to serve a three-game suspension to start the season for violating the league's policy on substance abuse.

As an avid Seahawks fan I have to say I like what Pete Carrol and GM Schnider are doing. We might fuck around and make the play off if they continue shaping the roster like this.:yes::yes:

He is not better than brandon marshall so why does he want more money than him?

I don't know. He knows Seattle has deep pockets is the only thing I can think of. San Diego only wants a 2nd rounder for him. If they get the money right I'm cool with giving up a second rounder for him.

Hopefully this won't happen...cause my 49ers ain't got the secondary to cover both him and Housh.

Housh is garbage. He's slow as fuck now. By the time he gets in the middle of the field the pass rush gets to our QB. I would like us to throw in Housh and perhaps give up a 3rd rounder instead of a #2 pick.

Zactly.......Skins should got his ass any way......every expert has said Mcnabb is better in the Shanhans offense all he need is the receivers.

Mcnabb is used to having a below average group of receivers but still they should have made a move, as a cowboys fan all I can say is oh well

The Chargers front office is run by a ego maniacal fool but he's right on this one. No way i give Jackson 5yr 50mil. If they can get a high pick for Jackson or multiple mid picks then they should do it in a heartbeat.

I guess you didn't watch any of the 9ers games last season where the 9er secondary kicked Housh's ass, and sonned Boldin and Fitzgerald.

We are trying to get rid of Housh. He's not a bad receiver but it usually takes his routes too long to develop:by time he completes his route and creates separation between himself and who ever is covering him the pass rush usually gets to Hasslebeck. He'd be a good pick up for San Diego, though. He has excellent hands, he works the middle of the field well, and he always competes for the ball and extra yards.

An ideal trade for VJ would be a 3rd rounder and Housh.

Man that fool is out of his damn mind  Nobody even knows who the hell he is. His numbers are nice don't get me wrong but he's not even a marquee name when it comes to receivers. Andre, Fitz, Marshall, Calvin, those are names everybody knows and respects. This fool is known for the wrong reasons, especially in SD. Fool got arrested before a playoff game last year and Rivers had to come bail his ass out :smh: 2nd round pick and keep it moving if I'm the Chargers.
