To be feared or loved

Is it better to be feared or loved, if one is a political leader or a member of society? This is a serious question that demands an answer.

We all want to be loved and admired by our friends, family, society, and co-workers — but reality is, that humans have no problems offending one whom they love but fear offending a person they fear.

When people love, it is they who have the option to show love towards other people. But when people fear you because you can make them suffer — then it is you who have the power to determine how you will be treated.

Therefore, due to the imperfections of human nature it is better to be feared than loved — because a person who is feared can some day be loved. Now a person who is loved but not feared seldom reaches the level of being feared by the many he encounters.

It would be nice to be loved and feared at the same time, but living among humans verifies that one or the other will always be more dominant. It is, therefore, better to be feared. Being feared you can always do good while still being feared.

Personally, I would rather be feared. When I was coming up respect was numero uno in the streets and in high school. Once a person tampered with it his life or physical well being could be on the line. But fear is another form of respect, we talking about the two, fear and love.

When people love you, they can try to take advantage of you. You know the saying, "family will fuck you first", or "don't do business with relatives".

These sayings are said for a reason and are damn good examples. When people love you the respect just isn't there to take you seriously. The love makes them not think of suffering, if they do something wrong. So when your not taken seriously, people can fuck you up financially, set you up, embarrass you or put you out there.

So I would rather be feared than loved.

There's a difference between fear and respect.

Fear to me is kind of like an extreme form of respect. Knowing not to step over someone's toes.

There is other respect, where you aren't neccessarily scared of a person. You would not screw that person cause you just respect people. It's your morals.

I'm not saying fear is equalled to respect. I think it's a certain form of respect. You don't have to like somebody to respect them.

I don't like police but I respect them. If I tried to harm one they'd have right by law to kill me.

You respect your boss cause you know he or she will fire your ass.

You respect your mom or pop cause you know they brought into this world and raised you. You respect them for what they have done for you. You can't fuck em over cause you know it's naturally against you to bite the hand that fed you.

You respect Dr. King cause he opened the door for black folks. You don't neccessarily fear him because I don't think he can physically hurt you. But you know he's great but & it would be unnatural to harm him cause he's done good to help you.

People fear you first then it turns to hate and eventually they will do whatever it takes to get rid of you. It's best to be loved, respect is provocative, it makes weak, insecure people challenge you.

thats how i feel if i gotta fear your ass, id rather get rid of that prob. u just gotta handle up on folks sometime. but i think it is best from someone they dont expect. look at columbine and them other school shootings. now that we done grown up! we have all had days where we wanted to pull a trigger to see whos are bigger. feared people misbehave when they handle up, loved ones snap and go too far when they gotta handle up.

I would rather be respected by
feared by some
and loved by her....

I think Fat Joe said it best...

"I'd rather be FEARED than LOVED because the FEAR LAST LONGER!"
