...if any one thing about your life was different?
If you're like me you recognize there are things you need/want to improve and you work on them in order to become a better person. While understanding the need for change in certain areas, overall I am happy with the man that I am and I feel that (all of) the things that have and have not happened in my life to this point (28 years) have contributed to that. Examples are growing up in a single parent home, experiencing life and death in, and even my birth date and sign have all created me as I am. To me if any 1 of the things in my life was different I would be different... How do all feel about that statement and (how) do you think you would be different if you walked in another person's shoes. How would your personality be the same or different if you were the opposite sex, or if you were another race or religion, etc.? For those of you who were raised by one parent, would you change that if you had the power to do so? I know in my situation I wouldn't. I was raised by my mother from the ages of 5-18 (I left for college at 18) and despite the fact that I sometimes look at the father-son relationships of others and feel it would have been nice to have that, I honestly wouldn't have kept my father in the house for longer than he was. He and I have a pretty good relationship as men, but he did drop the ball as a father to me, my brother and sister (they were raised by their mother). It is what it is and I feel that in my next father-son relationship (when I am the father) I'll give my son(s) what I didn't have. Anyway, that's enough about me. BG/SOL if you would take some time to think about this and holla back with you responses...
