Working and Living abroad thread

The last tour I had in Iraq was last year (left last August) I had a friend that was working for ManTECH. I knew her when I was in the military, and was working logistics in Baghdad. Her job was to process repair parts for shipment back to the States and Afghanistan. She was clearing over 200k just to pack and ship parts. But like I said, because of the draw-down, even jobs in logistics are becoming scarce.

I was just looking at ITT website, and if you're willing to travel, heres a job in China that's in the logistics field. The key thing about doing contracting work overseas, is that once you get in the system, you could move around, and find additional opportunities.

Ain't that some shit. I used to work for ManTech and they paid me 180k (if I had stayed for the whole year). I left Iraq in November. Did about the same shit but you gotta have a clearance to work for ManTech.

Hey LT,
Good looking out for all interested persons on BGOL. There are numerous opportunities in ROV's out there. All ROV companies are currently hurting for good people. Pay is negotiable! It's good to hear you're doing okay. They can also check out C-Innovations, DOFF and Canyon.

And from CI

Good afternoon,

We’re growing again!

With growth comes the need for top notch people. If you’re pondering about changing things for the better in your career, I want to talk with you. Emails work best as I am in constant interviews and I have limited time to talk on the phone. I can email all the supporting documents and company information you need to get an idea about working here.

We have the things you are looking for in pay, the work scope, equal rotations or 4x2, upward mobility and family atmosphere. I know that is the reason you would be looking to move over to our side and I want to be honest in telling you that this is a fast moving recruiting train moving towards its destination. I have openings now but from past experience, they fill quickly. If you are serious about finding out if C-Innovation is right for you, we need to talk soon.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Ron Gross

I'm trying to get a job in Afghanistan right now

I read all the descriptions an they be acting like if you ain't got 8yrs military or some serious credentials its over for you

Where can a black man go in the world and be left the fuck alone if he's not causing trouble? Not just that, but not treated like a third class citizen because of ethnicity.

Brazil is another option:

Pros:
Scarcity of qualified workers: with only 4% unemployement and education behind many of the developing countries, they are thirsty for highly educated people with understanding of American best practices

Women, Weather, Culture and did I say women

PAY! Higher gross salary than US for certain jobs!

Opportunities: With worldcup and olympics, Oil and Gas, and Banking

Cons:
Portuguese may not always be required! BUT for social outside of the office networking you'll need to pick it up--takes a year to get really serviceable

TAXES! Super high tax rate, then you've got US breathing down your back

Inflation and high interest rates

How do you find a reputable recruiter though? The ones that I found were all scams.

I wouldn't use a 'recruiter'. I would use Alumni, Friends, LinkedIn, and I would even fly down and stay for a month or two to setup face to face meetings if I was really serious.

They are looking for people in finance and some other areas that require specific knowledge.

For instance PetroBras is investing 275Billion in Oil and Gas development--shortage there

Growing banking industry--shortage there...

Like I said, I wouldn't use recruiters sight unseen--shit, those barely work in the US--and don't really work for higher paying jobs--you need references...

Any role that requires you to face international markets, since most educated Brazilians speak English as their second language AND NOT SPANISH!

These guys are serious players in Africa at the moment. BTG’s London office operates mostly as an asset manager and hedge fund, but is also building a European client-facing business. And if you have UBS on your CV and you know Huw Jenkins, you may be in with a chance:lol::lol:

and you know what

Just built a studio in Malmo, Sweden.

Taxed damn near 30-40%, but socialism actually works here. Pay is great. People make careers at McDonalds. (Damn near $20/hr). Due to being a minority, we were able to get grants for business relatively easy. This country supports the arts heavily.

Lots of jobs in IT and Engineering sector.

I'm sure BGOL would love the prototype white women over here. They are getting thick too.

Yooooo did I miss something? Second thread I popped in and ninjas is screaming on GT.

Something going on about him being on Stormfront, or quoting from there.

What about the language barrier? Could I get by speaking only English?

I heard Malmo has been taken over by Iraqi and Ethiopian immigrants. I went there back in the 90s when I was stationed in Germany. It was a pretty cool place back then.

This guy has a pretty good series of videos blogging about his travels around the world.

This Jamaican/Canadian didn't have a good experience while traveling to Bali with her white boyfriend.
