Marketing Information Analyst - Portland Trail Blazers (Portland, OR)


Salary: $44,426 - 62,197
Job Summary/General Description:

Work with sales and service departments to help track sales activity and manage customer interactions. Help build prospect database through leads acquisition and data imports. Support strategic marketing goals with effective use of database and CRM resources. Generate business intelligence for department heads by creating reports and writing data procedures. Create customer/prospect lists for direct marketing campaigns. Assist with e-mail marketing and e-commerce efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities (in order of importance):


Work effectively with Ticket Sales and Group Sales management, Corporate Sponsorship and Customer Service departments to understand current sales and retention goals and strategies. Marshall database resources accordingly in support of sales and service goals. Manage aspects of sales activity, forecasting, claims tracking and other processes as directed by Management. Maintain, improve and create new operational processes for the CRM system. Create documentation of database business procedures.
Develop and execute standard SQL queries and reports; data mine for direct mail and e-mail prospects, generate customer and prospect lists for direct marketing campaigns. Measure response rates.
Train and assist new and existing CRM database users. Work with users to teach new processes, ensure efficient system usage, and troubleshoot problems. Monitor and report usage; correct improper usage.
Regularly evaluate and replenish lead sources for ticket sales staffs. Manage data imports from other data sources, including sales prospects and permission marketing members. Conduct detailed leads analysis to determine effectiveness of lead sources. Evaluate and test new lead sources.
Develop relationships with list vendors. Negotiate effectively to obtain best possible agreements.
Help manage current efforts and develop new efforts to build database with new prospects.
Work with department heads to create new reports and ensure effective use of existing reports.
Work with the Systems Administrator to manage ongoing data cleansing and de-duping of customer database.
Hire and manage database marketing intern.
Qualifications (educational requirements, certification or licensing standards, experience and basic knowledge requirements):


Technical minded
Minimum two (2) years prior experience working with a large customer database
Understanding of marketing and sales
Strong knowledge of SQL programming; understanding of Microsoft Visual Basic a plus
Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, Outlook, Access
Experience with relational database applications a must (Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server preferred)
Experience with Cognos BI software or other OLAP reporting software a plus
Two to four (2-4) years of database management systems experience
Two to four (2-40 years prior experience in marketing, marketing database, and/or circulation analysis
Familiarity with certain aspects of Do Not Call legislation and other legislative constraints affecting direct marketing activities
