Database Marketing Coordinator - Orlando Magic (Orlando, FL)
JOB SUMMARY
Develop and compile formal centralized corporate market research and surveying function for company and assist in research-based database marketing projects.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS
• Reports To: Database Marketing Manager
• Supervises: Game night survey crew
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Market Research Function
1. Act as visionary for market research by identifying data needs (gaps) and actively collecting or generating appropriate data. Expand existing research and tracking efforts to determine fan concerns and interests. Compile market analysis and benchmarking trends as necessary.
2. Administer (when necessary), archive and analyze all internal and external (Scarborough, Sawtooth, EDC, NBA etc.) market research for impact on business performance.
3. Oversee game night surveying program including supervision of all game night staff, upkeep of PDAs and all related reporting.
4. Implement post-game survey program and all related reporting.
5. Consult on (and administer when appropriate) internal department survey needs.
6. Track best practices for market research within and outside the sports industry.
Database Marketing Function
1. Assist in the development and execution of direct mail, e-mail and indirect database marketing projects.
2. Extract and compile data to be used in reporting and in the development of campaigns.
3. Assist in research on data files to include frequency identification and trend analysis.
4. Assist in the execution of e-mail campaigns.
5. Create custom lists and reports based on set criteria.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversight of game night surveying crew.
QUALIFICATIONS
? Bachelor’s degree required. Analytical skills coursework or experience required.
? Background in market research, survey research or other related field preferred.
? Previous ticket office experience preferred.
? Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint desired. HTML and/or SQL knowledge a plus.
? Detail-oriented and solid time management skills.
? Ability to work flexible hours including game nights/weekends as assigned.
? Excellent oral and written communication skills.
? Proven organizational and time management skills; ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments.
? Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work well with other departments.
? Marketing and professional sports experience preferred.
