Website Services Manager - New Orleans Hornets (New Orleans, LA)
Overall Purpose: This position is responsible for the development, execution and management of Hornets.com. In addition, this position is expected to leverage all available expertise and resources to support organizational goals and initiatives, drive measurable results and enhance the overall fan experience.
Responsibilities: Specific duties include, but are not limited to: •Build an executable interactive strategy for the development and use of Hornets.com as a primary communications tool to relay the team message and brand most effectively. •Develop and ensure all site content is posted and remains current including team news stories, sales/marketing information, photos, community initiatives, game entertainment components, calendars/schedules, etc. •Collaborate with other departments and facilitate the implementation of departmental objectives through postings and/or development/coding of secondary web pages (sales initiatives, sponsorship activation, special events, etc.). •Compose original site content for primary and secondary pages. •Work with the Creative Services department to ensure all site artwork is visually compelling and reflects content appropriately. •Oversee the maintenance of all email coming in through the website. •Ensure the appropriate impression reports are distributed on a regular basis. •Remain current in the latest technology and advancements (blogs, message boards, podcasts, etc.) and proactively offer site development solutions to ensure the continued growth of Hornets.com.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA): •Bachelor’s Degree required. •Background in marketing, journalism, media relations, public relations or related field preferred. •Experience-based knowledge of HTML, XML and Javascript. •Experience-based knowledge of Macromedia Flash. •Understanding of PHP/JSP/ASP languages. •Mastery of Photoshop, Illustrator, inDesign and/or other basic design software. •Excellent verbal and written communication skills. •Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. •Detail-oriented and solid time management skills. •Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work well with other departments. •Ability to work flexible hours and on game nights/weekends as needed.
Working Conditions: •Must be able to sit and work on a computer for extended periods of time.
