Creative Services Manager - Houston Texans (Houston, TX)


DEPARTMENT: Marketing
REPORTS TO: Vice President, Marketing

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree from four-year accredited college or university required.

SKILLS: Must have expert knowledge of the PC with the ability to work on a MAC. Needs extensive knowledge in the following programs: InDesign, Illistrator, Photoshop, Quark, and Acrobat. Must have experience using Dreamweaver, Flash and PowerPoint. Candidate should also be proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Must have excellent design and typography sense, along with the ability to take direction and then work independently to complete assigned tasks. Must have working knowledge of printing processes and material resources.

BASIC FUNCTION: The Creative Services Manager communicates the Houston Texans brand vision in all areas of advertising and design. This individual is responsible for the creation of the team’s graphical standards for all creative projects of the team and the graphical design of all team print products, including schedule cards, brochures, publications and all other printed materials. These graphical standards will be developed to fully integrate and comply with the team’s branding principles and the Creative Services Manager will serve as the focal point for adherence to these principals and standards across the organization and in all mediums (Internet, broadcast, etc.) and throughout the community (sponsors, broadcast partners, etc.) This individual will also provide advice and counsel to the Marketing department regarding the brand aspects of game day and community events. This individual will also establish and manage the team’s strategic communications plan. The Creative Services Manager will help to manage the teams’ relationships with all agencies and participate fully in the development of advertising strategies and tactics across all mediums. This position requires the individual to be a strong creative leader, able to handle multiple jobs, manage the design process and designers and oversee all functions of the creative services department. JOB FUNCTION: - Responsible for developing layout and design solutions for marketing the team and other various business units. - Responsible for the communicating and executing concepts clearly, and exhibiting a good sense of design and typography. - Works closely with the Vice President of Marketing and others in developing and executing strategic solutions and ideas for the solving of yearly initiatives. - Direct and manage freelance designers and/or outside design recourses as necessary to complete assignments. - Responsible for following guidelines and schedules, obtaining proper approvals as necessary to complete assignments as scheduled, ensuring established deadlines are met. - Responsible for establishing and maintaining clear communication with management. - Establishes and manages schedules and budgets with excellence.
