As keywords go, a few weeks ago someone here said start with "AUDIO" and "STERN". I use those choices often and maybe after that, PUNCH, BLOCK or CHAMP, BLIMP or WHOMP....for the third or fourth guess,

See, I start out with the same two words for every puzzle, then I have a couple options I use for a third and fourth word.

When you have eight boards you're working with using keywords, there's a higher likelihood of solving more puzzles more quickly.

This is because the more boards you have, the more those keywords will start to form actual words.

Furthermore, more guesses means it will reveal the correct placement of letters in more boards than just the one that you're currently trying to find the word for.

So in a way, it speeds up the process of solving all the words. You just have got to resist taking the fact that you have more tries in Octordle (13) for granted.

I agree with you. I caught straight hell on the first few times I played it but once I finally noticed that you could view all 8 panels at once, my play improved. My inattentiveness will bite me in the ass from time to time, for instance, I had 3 letters in one panel and made 3 incorrect answers in a row because I was ignoring a letter that was out of place.

I went from AHA!, to what?, to FOH, to oops...dammit, I fucked that up.

Yeah. You were the one who alerted us that we could see all 8 boards at once. For sure it is helpful. I didn’t do well either at first. Lost my first two games. Since then in 3 weeks, I think I’ve only lost one other time.
