Wordle: New Word Game. Frustrating and Addicting.

I'm starting to pick a different word each time. Although I have used
OPIUM (ha!)
on a couple of tries.

I'm still using words with two or more vowels but I've switched to using less words containing RSTLNE. Reason being is that words with those letters are easy to think of on a second guess if the first doesn't turn up anything. It's the second tier PMCDK letters that I try to flush out first.

While I've often looked into the family names of various fauna (what are other pachyderms, for instance) over the years and became SOMEWHAT familiar with them, this one still slipped my mind.
There are other families that would've sprang to mind immediately, such as horses or cattle.

Bovine, Canine, Equine, Feline, Pachyderm, Primate, etc.

:yes: That was my train of thought too. I wasn't familiar with this particular word, but based on the available letters I thought of the others in your spoiler and made an educated guess.

I have many of my completed puzzles shared on my IG account.
Unfortunately, I never quite achieved the level to solve the NYT Sunday crossword edition.
I gave consideration to competing but it takes me about 30-120 minutes to solve a puzzle.
 
What's the name of this game for your phone?!! There are all kinds of "Wordles" that pop up in my list that are not this game.

I hear you. The NYT puzzle was the pinnacle of crossword puzzles and I probably only finished three or four of them over the years without assistance.
Some of the puzzles on airlines used to give me fits too, but they served to keep me occupied for hours of flight time though.

There was ONCE a time when I was a somewhat well-read person.

I kinda cheat on this one since there's no hard mode.

I use a certain set of words for my first 4 guesses in which the letters dont overlap:
  • TOMBS
  • PICKY
  • LUNGE
  • WHARF
That's 20 different letters being used. From there it's just unscrambling. However, the hard part is it only leaves you with 9 guesses to get 8 words...

I don't think I've ever heard of this place but I was racking my brain trying to remember the Island nation in the atolls that the Brits took over and are leasing to the US. They are in the UK now but have been fighting for a long time to be able to return to their homeland.
