Why would you have to change anything when they're playing against EACH other?? As it is, they understand (and execute) the fundamentals of the game better than those rich NBA knuckleheads and also shoot Free Throws (which take only skill and not size) as well or better.

Then it should be done on all female levels domestically and internationally. That would take time and lobbying but if it wants to make profit it will. Like people said, it can't hurt.

That's what I'm saying. Unless the rim was 9 ft on all female levels of basketball around the world, it would make no sense to do it. This isn't like baseball where every league in the world with the exception of the NL plays with the DH. At least in that, there's very little change with the game is played. To play on a 10 ft rim and then go to a 9 ft rim would make it two entirely different games in the way it's played.

The USA should never have tolerated the creation of FIBA to regulate its own game any more than Europeans and FIFA would tolerate the US regulating the rules of football. The Europeans have created a bullshit sport which has little resemblance to basketball, in which ponderous flat footed Europeans do nothing but line up at the 3 point line and launch 3s. The year the US lost to Italy in the Olypmics, the Italians score 66 of their 99 points from beyond the arc, and that is a fucking travesty.

I guess if it works, who cares how you win. Even though seeing 50 shots from behind the arc isn't my idea of exciting basketball at all.

The problem with women;s bball here in the states is david Sterns greed. The other league that came out after the '96 olympics was actually good and attendence was up. They were playing in college field houses which was much more appropriate for the crowds. Thw women were making 6 figures while the wnba was only paying 70, 000 at most. Since it had the backing of the nba they were able to destroy and make sure that that league only had minimal tv coverage.
